While I would like to think he will have Terri put in protective custody, he's putting the rest of his political career on the line. That is what LEADERS do.

I don't agree with the Bushies on every single thing but she did raise some good boys--George and Jeb. I dont' know about that Neil character but there's always one in every family so you can't fault the parents for that. Good idea about sending her flowers. Let's hope some positive news will come from the Governor's office. You know the Supremes will act like a bunch of asses so we can't rely on those idiots.

Jeb Bush said in his news conference that he would not be making that decision. I assume he's leaving it up to the state agency.
To: hispanichoosier
I saw the Jeb Bush press conference earlier in the day. In response to press questions, his subordinate (lady Dr. in assistance to the disabled) said that the Governor would have the power to take Terri Schaivo into protective custody. HOWEVER, this right to act depended on the passage of the bill that was just defeated. I did not understand Gov. Bush to have claimed any such power in the absence of that new law.

Can't believe they voted this down...again..I am supposing they had good reasons-yeah right. BTW, Like your tag line.
To: mewzilla
When we find out the vote, the RNC and FL Rep Party should target every darned one of the Republicans who voted against or abstained from voting. A new candidate should be run against them in the primaries with the full power and money of the RNC and FL party.
If a Republican can't vote right in this instance, throw his butt out!

Believe it or not we have a lot of support for Terri here in SE Asia
The world's superpower and most vocal nation on support for human rights around the world is starving and dehydrating a disabled woman to death and children are being handcuffed and arrested for bringing her water.
The shame of it all

If anyone can just say that they know someone would want to die after 15 yrs of tube feedings, then the precedent set is that every handicapped person will be killed if they can't feed themselves....
I am totally against extraordinary measures, but not after they have been in place for this long, long time and the one making the decision is a money hungry adulterer....

Their House approved it. The Senate vote is close. The Governor is going to take her into protective custody. It's not all bad.

Things will get seriously ugly, legally, if the DCF moves in Oh, you mean uglier than seeing a woman starve to death? No, you're kidding me! /sarcasm
To: davidosborne
now can people stop complaining about 'activist' judges.
the representatives of the people of the state of Florida have spoken. Terri dies and they don't care.

You either cannot read or you don't listen -- three weeks ago a call to their hotline about abuse of Terri was taken, a preliminary investigation was just completed, and DCF is going to act. That's the facts -- this is updated and new information not the same old rehash.
