Microsoft advises against iPod shuffle? Well, sure, why wouldn't they? The points they bring up are valid, though there are points to argue in the other direction. This is classic marketing strategy, identifying ways of differentiating products on a basis other than price.

Do you think this warrants one? I try not to ping for trivial things...LOL! I'll have to start a Microsoft FUD ping.

So, they responded to what their market was doing, and they've made thousands of dollars off it. As a stockholder, I hope it's a bit more than that...
But for people who just want something to listen to--which is most of the music player market--the Shuffle is perfect.
Plus it's not unreasonably priced even compared to regular flash USB drives.

By "thousands," I of course meant tens and hundreds, not "five thousand" or "eight thousand." Come on, let's not get overly-literal here.

Plus it's not unreasonably priced even compared to regular flash USB drives. That's a very good point. The $99 Shuffle costs about the same as many 512MB USB keys, and you get to play music on it.
