but I honestly DID think every human had to have some sort of liquid (water, juice, etc) within about 10 days or they will die of dehydration.

They have to. It's either B.S. or Deejay was being hydrated (and nourished) intraveinously.

Actually, jackibutterfly was responding to the poster who made the comment in #7, not saying herself that Terri is a vegetable.

How many days did you go without any fluids either by mouth or by IV?

I have been searching on Google. The longest anyone has ever gone without water is 10 days.

You should call the Guiness Book of World Records, if you can document this.

You should also write a book on how you did it.

Do I sound skeptical? What do you think?

Anybody who has ever done two a days in summer football practice or participated in a forced march without adequate hydration can testify to lying on the floor in a fetal position screaming for somebody to untie the knot in their calf muscle.

Or perhaps I was the only stupid one.

How dare you call this place a pack of wild dogs?

We stand against the barbarism of starvation of the innocent.

If you want the woman dead so badly, why don't you demand she be given a lethal injection? That's the treatment due an animal near death. Is Terri Schiavo less than an animal?

In fact, why not do it yourself, you merchant of death? What, no guts? Would you rather hide behind a sick judge and let him do your dirty work for you?

In fact, if someone walked into her room and put a bullet in her head, wouldn't that be more humane than starving her slowly?

One of these days we are going to be on opposite sides at the final battle. Boy, is it going to be a pleasure to see people like you go down.

LOL, it's nice to see a post from you, always a voice of reason.

The bill for something like this is enourmous and cannot be ignored like it's bad manners to discuss the reality that money is a part of the equation.

It is my understanding that Terri was awarded a large sum of money in her malpractice suit specifically to pay for that level of care for a period of about forty years. At that time (when seeking the award), her husband was adamant about her life expectancy and the need to care for her. Where did those funds go? I've read that they went into trust for her, but that her husband received authorization from Judge Greer to apply them to the legal bills incurred in his quest to starve her.

It seems to me that Deejay's story, if true, certainly substantiates the claim that doctors don't know everything. If, in fact, Deejay was able to pull off what would appear to be a medical miracle, one would think she (I believe it's she) would be more hesitant to label Terri beyond hope. After all, Deejay would seem to be living proof that miracles can happen, especially when she mentions how she cured herself after extensive medical care failed.

I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she was doped up & didn't realize she was getting nourishment. Of course, so much for her credibility.

the Deejay reminds of the guy in college on my dorm floor who told us he once did a shot of tequila every minute for an hour. He also told us he helped write Boyz II Men's album with them, and that he was on the US ping-pong team but quit to come to school. i.e. he was a liar.
