Pride or prejudice? Terri's plight...Stop the BS!
Multitudes of postings | 3/26/2005 | self

I am a Christian. I call myself conservative. I vote for Republican candidates, and helped elect (and re-elect) George Bush and his dad, with my vote, and my pocketbook.

I am tired of the people who know what is right. I studied the Bible in a formal setting (Bible college), and have been brought up with the teachings of the church.

Why is this hysteria taking place? Is it because a Florida judge has ruled on a valid law, or that we disagree wth him and that law? Are we taking a biblical approach to this situation? Do we believe there is a God?

People are threatening Michael, like he is the angel of death. He's not. He's a guy that has loved a woman so much that he has taken the abuse of thousands of professing "Christians' who have no real interest, nor an accurate knowledge of the events taking place. I read where he spent years of his life trying to get some help for her. Now, he is a beast, since he has decided to let God have her...

We have portions of both sides' news, and positions being dispensed. We are led to believe, by the "right to lifers", that she is ready to get up and walk. Her parents say she is speaking, but doctors have said that it is not possible, she has no reasoning capability. Nurses eport that he tried to murder her with insulin, tyet, even the cops don't believe them. Of course, your histrionics are going to change her situation...

I don't know. I can't make the decision. I don't want ot be faced with a similar decision (but I have a DNR set up).

I do know that there is only one entity that can change her condition. He is our Heavenly Father. His Son is honored in our corporate memory tomorrow.

I have read of people making comparisons of Terri to Jesus in His sacrificial death. Please spare us that one.

I have seen that people expect the courts to join their delusions about her condition, and fly in the face of that reality when it is face down...

Get a grip.

God is still in control If Terri Schiavo is so important to you, as a believer, you should be spending your time on your knees... not browsing the Internet. God doesn't sign on here...

James 5:7ff-

7Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. 8You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near. 9Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!

10Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

12Above all, my brothers, do not swear–not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. Let your “Yes” be yes, and your “No,” no, or you will be condemned. The Prayer of Faith

13Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Not really. Not trying to debate, but illustrate the concerns at root he asked about. The quotes show the diverse conservatives who have a consensus about our polity... And the long article should be read by all. Have you?

I understand.

When you need a few mellow moments and want a chuckle, go back to the link I put in the message.  I think you'll enjoy the thread as much as I and a few others did, partly because we saw ourselves in it.

My main posting character defect is I overwrite and quote too much.

With best intentions,
Racehorse

It is the medical profession (who could have refused) that pulled the tube out of Terri and stands idly by while she slowly starves to death. The lawyers and judges have created this problem, but the medical profession have openly walked through the door and reaped the profits. where is your degree from ?? the jack kevorkian school of medical ethics??

You continue with your asinine logic, Bill.

If you want to blame all members of a profession or trade for what some of them do, tell me what you really do for a living and I will tell you what your profession or trade does to aid the abortionists and what your profession or trade did in Germany.

All you have done is throw out lies that you hire others to kill people for you.

Trying to discussing it is pointless. Probably best to just take about a 6 month vacation from FR.

This isn't about opinions, for God's sake. It is about whether or not we, as a society, are ready to accept a Nuremburg like excuse from our courts and elected officials when Terri is finally dead.

It's like all sanity has left. I've never seen anything like it.

I honestly don't know what (beyond keeping her alive ). Judges, the state and federal legislatures are a bunch of Nazis and cowards. So let's get them more involved in end of life decision making. What the?!?!?!?

Many people seem to think this is a complicated case. It's not. It's simple. The Creator's law supercedes man's law. This is not "letting God have her". This is murder plain and simple. Maybe man's mangled law doesn't see it that way in this case, but that doesn't change the fact that this is murder one iota.

I'm shocked that you could portray starving Terri to death as "letting God have her". Could any act of killing then be justified as "letting" God have the victim?

And you're not emotionally involved enough, if you can't see that this is State Sponsored Murder and you're in favor of it.

Have a nice nite.

"I most certainly do feel queasy about abortions but the responsibility about abortions lies with the society that has a cultural tolerance for legalizing it and not the medical profession as a whole."

GIve me a break. Just because a procedure is deemed "legal", doesn't mean doctors have to perform it." It's because of profits that they perform it. It has nothing to do with their profession which is TO PRESERVE LIFE. When was the last time you read your hippocratic oath to which you swore to uphold? Or did it turn into the hipocritic oath now?

Thank you for showing there is still some sanity left in the FRee world ;-). The insanity generated by this has truly scared me that some of my democrat friends might have been right about the radicals taking over the republican party.

You are obviously clueless about the facts in this case. I suggest you learn about whatever topic you post on next time as to not make as big a fool out of yourself then as you have here.

The only reason the last rites were given THIS TIME is because of the publicity of Terri Schindler's demise. But Terry still plans to have Terri's body cremated just after her death, thus hiding all evidence of his abusive attacks on her person before her hospitalization of the so called "heart attack".

It's a sad day in America. Please pray for us.

Yes sir I will but remember America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, it is the greatest nation, God’s country, a beacon to the oppressed the abused and the disenfranchised, I have great faith in your great country you are blessed to be an American, some day I will claim America as my home (when I have finished making my fortune) and on that day I will take an oath of allegiance to a country that protects the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness under God and I have faith that day will come.

"It's like all sanity has left. I've never seen anything like it."

Peach, much as I respect you, we now have a State sponsored right to kill precedent case being set in a state with a large retiree contingent during a time of national Social Security and health care benefits debate. The Executive has blinked before what is a despotic, royal-judiciary. Facts are in doubt. The Soros, Scientology, euthanasia, Logan's Run crowd have won against morals and Judeo-Christian vestiges of "Life, Liberty," leaving only whatever hedonistic "pursuit of happiness" a person can find in trivialities.

A husband in name only, on a nurse's salary, with 2 Mercedes Benzes and a $400K house, 2 kids and a wife in hospice has pro-euthanasia doctors and lawyers supporting the refusal of treatment. That same husband is somehow a guardian of his actual wife, refusing treatment and life-supporting care at least since 1993. That husband may have attempted murder, but was somehow never investigated.

Giving water to a dying person is now illegal. Feeding the dying is illegal. Engaging in an aggressive death treatment for a disabled person because that person is no longer a useful person IS legal, including starvation, refusal of water, and administration of morphine to hasten vomiting, dehydration and death.

What is upsetting is that any one of us not only could be, but at some point also will be next, depending on the circumstanes. The language of a 'living' will is going to be used as justification legally to deprive treatment after a certain age, as a person does not have to be diagnosed as terminal to be deemed ready for death. Once a person goes so far in treatment and needs something--oxygen, special food, dialysis, etc.--they're going to be given whatever 'therapeutic treatment' will ease society's burden. Any disabled person is now 'fair game' if ever that person appears to be non-contributing.

This is not just about Terri. Using the full faith and credit clause, and the insurance industry/Medicare-caid programs, we are now all on artificial life support, because we need food and water, and we are getting older.

The killmongers know this. We just haven't wanted to look it square in the eye, because we 'love' youth and beauty, and want everyone to be happy, apparently, even in the 'euphoria' of death. The old we shove to the side. But, even the Germans, the Japanese, the Italians, those old World War II enemies who would kill 'for no reason' have now come with others to watch with their TVs the great and mighty United States kill an innocent by law.

The religious organizations? Well, anyone who's Christian not in name only knows prophecy very well. In my opinion, those who aren't had better get right with the Almighty God, because the almighty State is coming for us--fast. The invasion of the body snatchers has begun, and we won't be going to the Gulag.
