Family: Terri Schiavo growing weaker, condition deteriorating
Miami Herald ^ | March 31, 2005 | PHIL LONG AND MARTIN MERZER

PINELLAS PARK - Terri Schiavo is ''very gaunt'' and her condition deteriorated markedly overnight, representatives of her parents said this morning. The severely brain-damaged woman will begin her second week without food and water this afternoon.

''It's her 14th day without food and water,'' said her brother, Bobby Schindler. ``You can imagine, it is not a pretty sight.''

Father Frank Pavone, a family priest, said she became considerably weaker overnight.

Schiavo's feeding tube was disconnected on March 18 after a judge supported the contention of her husband, Michael Schiavo, that she should be allowed to die after 15 years on that form of life support. Experts said she was unlikely to survive more than two weeks without the feeding tube.

Pavone said Schiavo was ''breathing very rapidly and shallowly. She is obviously very gaunt and drawn, and her face is sunken.'' He called it, ``the face of inhumanity.''

Her husband's representatives have said that death appears to be coming peacefully, but Pavone, her brother and her parents said that is not the case.

They want her feeding tube reconnected, but they have lost every round of a lengthy court battle, including two setbacks Wednesday in a federal appeals court and the U.S. Supreme Court. Their attorney said no more appeals will be filed.

''In looking at her, you can tell this is someone in great distress and great agony,'' Pavone said. ``Her facial expression, if you had to put an emotion on it, is one of great distress, even approaching terror.''

He and some of her family members visited her this morning.

Bobby Schindler and his sister, Suzanne Vitadamo, were ''sitting there praying, holding her hand, stroking her hair,'' Pavone said.

The Catholic priest said he sang Hail Holy Queen and several hymns in Latin.

'We were saying to her, `Terri, there are a lot of people around the country praying for you,' '' Pavone said. ``We were all saying the same things, assuring her that we are here, we're not going away.''

Monsters. I hope the pro-death people are satisfied at long last.

They are glorying in it, you can be sure. And I hear they've since told the parents they can't see her anymore.

Chalk this round up to the devil.

I'm thoroughly disgusted. At the present time, the penalty for committing euthanasia in Britain is 14 years in prison. I do not want the effect of the Schiavo case washing on these shores.

I can't believe how impotent we were to save a single woman's life from a clearly rotten man, girded up by a clearly corrupt judicial system.

I've lost faith in our so-called Republican majorities. We need to grow a fresh crop of real conservatives, not this phonies and pretenders we keep electing only because they're not as bad as the whack jobs who run from the Left.

Sorry Ivan, but it won't be long. It is apparently the way of all flesh.

Incidentally I currently live in north central Florida and may be moving soon to Tampa per the requirements of my employer.

But I will be careful not to pick a home in Pinellas County. And I choose a Living Will. I think they should call it a Dying Will, or just plain Death Wish, for the pull-the-tubers.

More prayers........Infinite Grace and Mercy, With Jesus Christ!

Yet,.....the 'gang' is NOW REALLY seen as who they all are,....The LIGHT of ABSLOUTE TRUE has exposed their DARKNESS!

.....The depths of 'legal' darkness!

(Romans 10:17)

Jesus, THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE,....Saves,...even from the death of sin,....for 'believers' in His 'Giving-Substitute-Blood' Redemption!

We all need to pray for God's light to surround Terri until her soul is lifted. I am horrified at the thought of her sadistic adulterous former spouse and his ghoulish lawyer hovering around her, whispering self-exulting junk into her ear in her final moments. I would not be surprised if those two are playing dice to see who gets the last of her money.

Pie Jesu
Pie Jesu, pie Jesu
Pie Jesu, pie Jesu
Qui tollis peccata mundi
Dona eis requiem
Dona eis requiem

Agnus dei, agnus dei
Agnus dei, agnus dei
Qui tollis peccata mundi
Dona eis requiem
Dona eis requiem
Sempiternam, sempiternam requiem

Lord, have mercy
Lord, have mercy
You who take away the sins of the world
Grant them peace
Grant them peace

Lamb of god, lamb of god
Lamb of god, lamb of god
You who take away the sins of the world
Grant them peace
Grant them peace
Peace everlasting, everlasting
AMEN

Well we won't see it because the enlightened bulbs on the Left are afraid we might mistake a look of gaunt terror and desparate breathing as a sign of discomfort and even pain, when in fact we all know she's euphoric right about now.

Mike Gallagher on fondle the fundies radio just reported that the husband would not let him visit her.

It is illegal here too, they've managed to work around the law, as you know. In fact it is our fault, since we won't let them actively kill her, that they have to "passively" kill her, which is a bucket-load of goosecrap.

Be ever vigilant, even as He who slumbers not nor sleeps.

I think MS should show pictures of what "death appears to be coming peacefully" means. If he is so proud of what he's doing, why hide behind lawyers and deputies?

That husband of hers sold his soul to the devil right about the time he got the settlement money. It changed his whole demeanor. He went from wanting to become a nurse to take care of her to becoming obsessed with her death. He told the parents---who by this time were also bankrupt and unable to get basic credit---to take a hike, then embarked on this crusade to have her feeding tube pulled, denying her the most elemental therapy.

How the courts overlook this is beyond me.

All I can say is is it God's will that is prevailing; not ours. It's time to let go and accept His will.

Maybe absence of any evidence?
