If there was an onsite paleontologist, that means the excavation process was witnessed and under his/her supervision, at a charge probably exceeding $100 bucks an hour for the entire project.

I wonder if his services are required by the Coastal Commission? or just part of a preservation of antiquities clause in the contract or such?
