Shays: DeLay Should Quit As House Leader

"Tom's conduct is hurting the Republican Party, is hurting this Republican majority and it is hurting any Republican who is up for re-election," Rep. Chris Shays, R-Conn., told The Associated Press in an interview, calling for DeLay to step down as majority leader.

DeLay "becomes the poster child for a lot of the things the Democrats think are wrong about Republican leadership. As long as he's there, he's going to become a pretty good target," Dodd said on ABC.

Maybe DeLay should stuff classified documents down his trousers. Then you'd support him, right?

Give me a break. All of the allegations leveled against DeLay are phonier than penis enlargement pills.

I don't know which Republican Party you're supporting. Maybe the People's Republic of North Korea?

"....ringing endorsement..."

When was the last time we had a Republican besides Delay go out on a limb? Never? Not this sissy group. All they care about is re-election....not principles, but re-election. We saw what happens to Dems that just put their finger up to test the wind....they lost and so will this current group of Republicans. I will sit home next election if they continue to roll over.

By job, I mean standing down the Dems. to get judges through, standing down Dems to get Bolton through, just standing down the Dems and showing them that they LOST!!! For pete's sake!!

The judges will go through and Bolt on will be our new U.N embassador. Cheer up. We are in vastly better shape than the Democrats and liberals, vastly better.

DeLay is the victim of a targeted, aggressive media and Democratic Party onslaught. Real Republicans who speak the blunt truth must be silenced with fabricated charges. If you were really a Republican district organizer and campaign contributer, you'd know this by now.

Apparently, you're not.

As for his dealings otherwise, if he broke the law, or was caught bending it, I don't care what letter he has by his name. It's called holding all politicians accountable to their oath of office.

Sorry, allegations aren't the same as concrete evidence.

Don't you think if DeLay really broke the law, he'd been run out of Washington by now?

Breathing deeply and calming down. Ok no I won't do that. Those rascals have been cuttin my taxes.

But at some point winning has to translate into a good ole fashioned a$$ whopin for these mangey liberals.

Um, no. I'm sure more than a few of the 436 political hacks in DC have broken the law or tweaked it enough to be called breaking without being run out of DC. And where there's smoke, there is usually some fire.

Beside that, he should at least step down from his leadership role for pandering to fringe groups that wished to misuse the Constitution to have their way in a state issue.

Just this year alone we won the "tort reform" fight and we won "the drilling in ANWR" fight. As I said, President Bush judges will go through, there will be a social security reform, there will be a permanent tax cut, etc...

Sometimes I get very angry because I do not see the Republicans fighting back with the nastiness of liberals, but then I realize that the liberals are nasty because they are losers and that they cannot win at the end of the game.

You will see soon that what I say is going to happen.

Don't believe me?

Call your local or state GOP party and ask what the future holds for Delay. If everyone was truly behind Delay in Congress, why do you think Dennis Hastert has not publicly spoken out in support of Delay?

As I said, President Bush judges will go through

I'll believe that when I see it.

If that happens fine. But unless they do there is no point. We can pass all the laws we want and the leftists judiciary will just shootem down.

As for Frist

Since when is Shays a Republican? Shays is neither conservative nor Republican. He hasn't aided in building this party, only detracted. He is for all intent a Liberal Democrat. His word means nothing. His opinions on Delay are laughable. Unlike the Senate, the House isn't as bound by Liberal blackmailers that attach to the party for survival but give nothing in return. Delay receiving support from Shays would be more worrisome.

Personally I'm suspicious of anyone that doesn't fully embrace Delay. He's a conservative unafraid of the Dems and MSM. He gets the job done. If it's a personality disconnect, get over it. If, perhaps, he's TOO effective as a conservative than I suppose some people are revealing their real ideology and it isn't concervatism. If believing of the MSM? I can only laugh. If afraid of confrontation, I repeat, get over it.

The reality is that a high profile conservative Republican that makes Dems shake and the MSM impotent in their rage does not survive if corruption charges are true. This means all the Dems have is innuendo, lie and distortion.

Delay will survive and grow stronger in that survival. The Dems will feed more power than he already has and have no one but themselves to blame. keep it up Tom! You're doing a good job!

Shays should follow his twin brother Jeffords.
