From the school's website: "The school is situated on the northeast quadrant of Columbus, Ohio inside the I-270 outerbelt. We are directly north of Port Columbus International Airport, south of Morse Road, and west of the suburb of Gahanna. Our school site is located just south of the new mega shopping and office development"
I don't know Columbus, but in regard to your question, it appears the answer is "Urban/Blue America."
I live in Columbus and this is school is situated in heavily Blue neighborhoods. It is very close to Easton Mall and Port Columbus International Airport. It is closer to the 270 Outerbelt than Downtown Columbus.
As far as the incident, absolutely despicable. Columbus Public will once again chicken out on the punishment. I am so sick of Columbus Public Schools. Always asking for more tax dollars without any results. This city has begun to go downhill, big time.
I attended a Columbus Public School for 2 years in the late 1980's in a heavily white, middle class neighborhood on the city's northwest side. After 2 years, my parents put me in the local Catholic school and I stayed in Catholic schools through high school graduation. Thank God I did!
You are correct, sir. My wife works about three miles from Mifflin. Pretty rough area around the high school, but there are really good areas surrounding it.
That being said, I can't say I'm surprised by this. Columbus Public Schools are horrible.
