I guess she can't raise her kids on her own, so she calls the local government.

I don't care how mad I ever was at my sisters, we never kicked holes in walls and we would have never gotten in a fight my mom couldn't have broken up just by walking in the room.

Why would someone call 911 over an irate child?

Because you (and I, as a kid) knew there'd be CONSEQUENCES. Some parents still don't want to hurt their kids' self-esteem.

My a$$ would've been thrashed, rightfully so, had I kicked in a wall during a sibling dispute.

I put a hole in the wall once...missed the stud thank god. Well dad learned me two lessons that day. The first was how to patch dry wall, and the second was that even though he was 40 and i was 16 he could still kick my ass.

No kidding. My sister and I had to punch each other in silence. This was especially true when we were all in the car. Then dad would realize what was going on and he'd reach his looong arm out to the back seat and just start swinging.

My sister and I looked like Cassius Clay with all our bobbing and weaving.

BTW, it was always, always, her fault.

However, you don't speak for everyone.

Don't jump to conclusions. If you read the article, one of the daughters (I'm assuming the one who was out of control) has "emotional" problems. That often means people who due to some inborn wiring problem or chemical imbalance are prone to fits of uncontrollable rage that requires them to be physically subdued and then medicated.

And if the kid is 12 years old, it is entirely conceivable that the mother my not be able to physically handle her by herself. (Hint: This is why they hire big, burley guys at mental hospitals.)
