Derision is a good tool. ;)
Well...I think you meant turkey bastered (grin) ...however... I like what Pastor Rick Warren said in his book Forty Days Of Purpose:
"There are no illegitimate children, only illegitimate parents."
As for people practicing abominations, all I can say is I try to hate only the sin, not the sinner. My estimate is that probably only a tenth of them are angry societal anarchists and the rest are profoundly hurting, sad, abused and desperate people who long to act normal/hetero.
Is this why they want to get married?
I'd say the 'marriage' in many cases is their crying out for legitimacy, validation they never had, etc. That's sad, actually.
I also say NO WAY to defining marriage downward to something so evil and just unnnnnnngh GROSS. That's the "hate evil" part.
GREAT violin, BTW! That's the Psalm 2 laughter part....
One ruling does not a trend make.
How does a trend start?
PING
Does this mean the wedding gifts go back?
Or not?
More confusion for kids I'm not your mommy, I'm am your mommy, I'm not your mommy according to (followed by a long explaination that a kid can't grasp).
How does a trend start?
Logically a trend must "start" with one. In order to be considered a "trend" or even a potemtial trend, there must be a series of similar events. Enough to show a definite direction, i.e. a trend. Thus one in isolation is not a trend. It is wishful thinking.
To my knowledge, New York, Florida, Louisiana and now Oregan, have had court rulings favoring bans on gay-marriage.
I see a trend developing. ;^)

Now hold on just a minute. The initial reference you made was to a specific court, that being the Oregon Supreme Court, showing a direction. Not a trend in multiple court rulings on this particular subject.
So, technically, you're still not justified in seeing a trend.
*Unless* the Oregon Supreme Court continues to make similar rulings as it has here.
So, there. :-)

I'll give you some leeway...but I don't see one particular court hearing the same case multiple times. However I don't rule out anything when it comes to the courts these days.
Regards! ;^)
Agreed. Enough discussion of semantics. I don't care how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
It's time to decimate liberals [I mean their arguments, of course]

We do that fairly well over at www.stoptheaclu.blogspot.com if you would care to join in. We deal with any issue that the ACLU is involved in.
