My girlfriend claims that Debra Norville (who was replaced by the perky Katie) got in a bunch of trouble in the early 90's.

She used to live in at Atlanta then, and says there scuttlebutt going around about Norville narcing on/selling out her live-in and then being allowed to walk away unscathed.

I tried to google on this, but I didn't find anything.

Ironically, there were no signs that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, it was just some dumb accident.

She was eased out of her job, however. You know, cocaine was so ubiquitous among the glitterati at the time, maybe it was just considered not worth mentioning. Remember that movie "1941" starring Dan Aykroyd? Total bomb. I remember reading a review somewhere that read something like this: a better title for this movie would be 'Hi Mom! I'm high on cocaine and starring in a movie!'

I remember her, but not what she was in.

Nose candy was huge back then. The Eagles and Steely Dan (my favorite group, obviously) did songs about it, and it basically formed the plot line of Miami Vice.

I remember Diane Sawyer doing an interview with "Sammy the Bull" Gravano. She was so hot for him she could hardly finish a question. He probably had her in the rack before the lights went out.

Do a flipside, switching the genders and substitute the names "Helen Thomas" and "Bill Clinton" and you kinda get the same mental pic....
