There are no conservatives outside the GOP just pretenders and the perpetually pissed off.
What is the GOP koolaide flavor of the month? If you really believe what you said then how do you deal with GWB signing the CFR bill? Or, how do you deal with the idea that GWB desires to make criminals (criminal aliens) legal by Presidential fiat? GWB is of the GOP but he is not conservative by a longshot unless you are talking in relative terms only.
