Maybe I'll sign up....we could use a few minutemen here in Suffolk County, NY. Seems we somehow have a leaky border and there are many thousand of illegal Mexicans working out of Farmingville and no one is allowed to do anything about them.

Right,.......Minutemen are needed to stop Congress from 'giving' sovereign U.S. money to the International sewer system.

Illegal immigration is still illegal and all these people are doing is reporting crossings just like anybody would call the police if they saw their neighbor's home being burglarized.

To me it is like my neighborhood watch at work. Only this time it stretches over 20 miles.Freedom and security comes with a price. Even as simply as watching a border. America's have a duty to watch and protect its borders.Every country in the world have rules.I lived in Europe for four years.Guess what? Each time I went across the border I had to show my passport and if i didn't I would not be allowed into that country..

I for one support the Minutemen.

GREAT news! I hope they are successful in expanding all across the southern border...and then moving north too.

HiJinx, get a load of this:

Moonyham shills the open border advocates' message just like a well-trained parrot by opening with "Xenophobic".

Wow. Folks, Rush and other good communicators and debaters have been saying this for how long now?

Words have meaning. And the words you use to shape the debate are powerful. By casting those against illegal immigration as bigots rather than patriots, the author of the linked article is shaping the debate.

That is why the other side had been winning up until now.

I agree! And I read elsewhere that they are planning "Name and Shame Protests" against employers of illegals. Interior enforcement is the key to fixing this problem and I hope one of these protests is close enough to Wyoming so I can participate.

How long will it be before Republicans outlaw the Minuteman, or co-opt them (Microsoft style) into the government bureaucracy to neutralize their effect.

After all we don't want the wages of cooks gardeners and maids to go up for the upper muddle class.

Usually you hire an outfit that hires the illegals, you pay $20 an hour, they pay the people working for you $5/hour; they pay costs, and pocket the rest. To them it is profit margin. It is no longer efective to hire yourself, look at all the nannygate cases.

The ones hiring illegals are mostly farming and other corporate interests.

Perhaps you could organize pickets in front of businesses in your area that hire illegals. I'll bet that is one kind of attention they will quickly try to do away with.

If Unions can picket against "scabs" then why shouldn't citizens be able to picket against illegals?
