The MSM will not be pleased. They hoped the new Pope would remake the Church to their specifications -- become more 'relevant'. Oh, well, it will be back to Catholic bashing in the MSM before you know it.

Considered conservative, yes.

I am struck though by the sense that liberals will HATE this and increase attacks on the church. So I wonder if he is indeed the pope of the Third Secret of Fatima. There is a sense he will be attacked. Because of conservative policies. A likely guess is that John Paul II wanted him to be his successor.

Why do they choose such old Pope's? His health will become an issue before too long then they'll have to go through the process again.
