Amazing! I had the radio on while I was reading FR, and actually saw your thread before I heard it announced on ABC radio.

FR, our source for news FIRST!

This is fabulous to watch, even if I don't understand a word he is saying!

A picture surely is worth a thousand words.

I understand Benedict is Bavarian. If that's the case, I think the new popemobile must be from Bayernische Motoren Werke.

CNN just said he originally said he would retire at 80, this doesn't bode well

Bull. Good health, good medicine, could go 20 years.

It's a stretch, but the Benedictans are also known as the Olivetans.

What a blessing this is for traditional Catholics like me. Just this morning I had an experience at Daily Mass that had me questioning the direction of the Church due to liberalism.

Here is a man who can restore tradition...God does work in His own way...

Agreed. One needs to be healthy to fight liberals.

I'm a sad nearly-elected Pope.

It was close Laz. I'd demand a recount.

>>all those leftist articles demanding the pope move left are about to pay off with a series of "disappointment" articles

the lefties can start their own church if they want.
New Pope speaks:
Dear brothers and sisters
After our great Pope John Paul II
The lord Cardinals have elected me, a simple humble worker in God's (couldn't hear)

I especially trust in your prayers
In the joy of the Resurrected Lord

Al Gore says he's confident that, when all the votes are counted, he'll be declared Pope.
