I'm curious, what is the truth there. I don't like the idea that he fought for the Germans when we just had a Pope who was persecuted by them.

I was in the car driving when the announcement came. I had to pull off the road - tears of joy came streaming down. My only sorrow was that I was not at home watching on TV and sharing with fellow FReepers. What a wonderful day. Viva Papa Benedict XVI! Hooray for Ratzinger! Thank God for the grace of the Holy Spirit.
