Being "raised Catholic" is just more B.S. for 'I want the Church to listen to my opinion even though I don't go anymore.' All of the "raised Catholic" types can p!$$ off. If you practice the faith you have at least some room to spout off, otherwise go join a Wiccan coven for all I care!

Cheers,

CSG

Bach benefactor didn't like it because it didn't sound like what he was used to hearing.

Most of the great composers when through the same thing.

>>>>>> I am presbyterian and have been thinking about switching to catholicism.

Someone like you would be a great addition to the Church!

He considered his life and his service to the Church his gift to God and the world, and prayed that he would leave something of himself behind in those whom he led to a deeper life in Jesus.

Celibacy is not required in order to "leave something of one's self behind" for Jesus.

Celibacy is a radical renunciation of the world in order to follow the Lord. But celibacy is secondary to the availability of the Eucharist to every Catholic who hungers for it.

If men are not going to embrace a celibate priesthood, (and they are not embracing it in the United States), then the Church will have to call non-celibates, as it has done and continues to do, as long as they pass themselves through the Anglican Church first.

More Catholics and voter of German ancestry will vote Republican now

Yes, this may be a good thing for Germany, we've all read stories about their youth groups who are adopting the ways of Hitlers Germany.

Dittoes -

Like that idiot bigoted non-Christian journalist "Ms. Rosenthal" telling the Vatican who and why and what agenda new Pope Benedick should have and why - and slipping in that old tired "NAZI-anti-semetic" cliched garbage again.

As a Protestant I am appalled but not surprised that Christian-haters in the radical (Socialist/Commie) Limo-liberal media and politicians and homosexuals and atheists would attempt to demand the person elected as Pope and his agenda to suit their personal worldview(s).

I certainly don*t pick Rabbis or tell Wiccans how to fly their brooms in bad weather.

They better be prepared to deal with reality - calling Ratzinger "the Panzer Pope" and "anti-Semetic" and a "homophobe" will not get them anywhere except further deeper in the pit.

When Pope Benedict smiles broadly at you on TV and waves just be assured he is laughing at their moronic agenda of the radicals and perverted and "Movin` On" with his!

Good post devolve. As a Catholic I have never called any other religious leader names. Only some Mullah urging his subjects to kill others deserves that.

Common sense and decency is becoming a lost virtue.
