Well that's accurate, but with the decline of the MSM don't you think the long-term trends are in our (Conservative) favor? Witness W's margin in 2000 vs. 2004. The more the truth gets out, the more the NY/LA Times circulation and broadcast news readership declines. I'm optimistic about the mind-set of Americans. I'm a little more worried about the earlier post about us being a post-industrial nation that doesn't actually produce much hardware anymore.

W did so well because he is a good man who loves this country, and with men on the ground overseas, the public was willing to give him more time.

But, the elites who run this country, still run this country, and until our reps in DC, who after all have the power of the purse, legislation and the judiciary,
figuratively spit in their eye, give them the finger, and absolutely refuse to speak with them, ignore their protestations, and say to themselves, "Why would I speak to, listen to, sit on the Sunday morning show of a DNC organization"?

Senators and House members should be at home, in a perpetual campaign of educating their public, explaining their views, taking questions, listening, getting ideas, appearing on local stations, and concentrating on their constituent services.

Getting into battle of words and editorials on Timm Russert show, does them no good, and shows them in a consistent defensive mode, which is normal when being interviewed by national liberals.

Constituent services, staying close to your constituents, is the only way to change the way the public comes to their views, from the bottom up.

Plus, it will give them more strength.
