The video you linked about the White House garden tour is great! Thanks. It should be of interest to gardeners and pet lovers alike.

Those pics actually look quite similar to what kids are allowed to wear now. We could never wear trousers, but I see girls in pants and polo shirts, which seems fine for active kids.

I went to school in the stone age when women wore gloves and we were taught in prep school how to give teas. In the mid-70s, when I was a newlywed, my late husband thought it was unseemly for me to go shopping wearing pants. It all seems a long time ago on a planet far, far away...

If we wore pants under our uniform skirts on the way to school due to the weather, we had to take them off out side the school door, in the drive way. (Mother Superior was a little weird)

I wore pants around the house, etc., and certainly wore them in college, but my husband had a thing about not wearing pants in town. Don't know where that came from, since we were pretty relaxed people. But this is from a guy who thought that women who wore open-toed shoes were prostitutes, so who knows what he was thinking.

I always enjoy photos of nicely dressed teenagers when they are with the President! Seems dress codes aren't all outmoded. I know THIS President respects the office enough to want ties, suits, etc and NOT t-shirts and hamburgers and condoms in the oval office (see:x41 for details).
