How is it that this miserable little outpost of elitest euro snobbery, and neo socialism has become so important to the EU experiment? It's economy does not even rank among the 5 best of Europe, it's unemployment rate is around 11%. They have not been a military power since 1812 and even further, have capitulated in nearly every conflict they could not slink away from.

BTW, the French were among the victorious powers in WWI, and most of the war was actually fought in France!

In WWII they got beat fair and square, but the fellows in the Maginot Line held out all the way to the end.

In Viet Nam Eisenhower refused to assist them by bombing the Commies at Bien Dien Phu. Eisenhower led the US to side with the Egyptians against the French, British and Israelis at Suez.

I think your complaint is a much more specific one than you claim ~ it's not that the French are, in general, cheese eating surrender monkeys ~ instead, they were against us upsetting their little revenue deal with Saddam Hussein.
