Father arrested over objections to homosexual curriculum in son’s kindergarten class.

LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS, APRIL 27. Lexington parent, David Parker, was arrested today by the Lexington Police for “trespassing” at his son’s elementary school during a scheduled meeting with the principal and the city’s Director of Education over his objections to homosexual curriculum materials and discussions in his son’s kindergarten class.

At the meeting, Parker demanded that the school inform him when homosexual subjects are to be discussed with his son, and allow his son not to be included in such activities. He said he would not leave until his request was granted. The Principal and the city’s Director of Education both refused his request. They then telephoned the Superintendent of Schools who also refused. Police were called, who told Parker that unless he left the school he would be arrested.

Statement by David Parker(April 27, 2005):

“I, David Parker, am the father of a kindergarten student at Estabrook Elementary School in Lexington, Massachusetts. Since the beginning of this school year, my wife and I have learned that school materials and discussions about gay-headed households/same-sex union issues have been exposed to the children. There are definitive plans to increase the teacher/staff/adult mediated discussions of these subjects.

“We have officially stated on many occasions—to the Lexington school administration—a request that we be notified when these discussions are planned, and want our 6-year-old opted out of such situations when arising “spontaneously”.

“Our parental requests for our own child were flat-out denied with no effort at accommodation. In our meeting on April 27, I, insisted that such accommodation be made and refused to leave the meeting room. I was informed that I would be arrested.”

Parker will be arraigned on Thursday, April 28, in Concord District Court at 9 am. “This is an unbelievable outrage,” said Brian Camenker, a friend and Newton, Mass. parent. “It’s where last year’s same-sex ‘marriage’ ruling has brought us.”

It seems to me that you made the right move!

If you stay involved in school and at home with your kids, they should turn out to be okay!

So far my kids haven't bought in to the BS some of their teachers try to pass on and are independent thinkers!

We as parents are always engaging our kids in discussions and are willing to listen to their opinions about any issue!

They come to us when they heard something in school that doesn't seem right and ask our opinion on the issue and when we confirm their suspicions, they say thats what I thought and how some of their peers blindly buy it!

Thanks. I missed the Herald article. I searched on Google news and nothing about the event came up. Maybe I used a wrong string.

By the way, Dave Parker was interviewed by Dipetro on WRKO this morning and may be in the studio tomorrow.

There is something to be said for HOME SCHOOLING.

Great post. As a home educator, I appreciate your professional perspective. FWIW, however, I have come to prefer "Home education" to "home schooling". After all, the school and its accompanying philosophy and forms are the things that home educators are out to avoid. Why, then, would we bring the kids home and then impose those same limiting forms upon them? There are aspects of school, like responding to bells, and staying in your desk unless you have to go to the restroom, that have no place in genuine education. I submit for your research the name "John Taylor Gatto", three-time New York City Teacher of the Year and author of "A Different Kind of School".

As to your closing admonishment to "Give it some thought," I'll see you and raise you a hearty "Make it so!"

take heart...

indoctrination doesn't work, case in point - the collapse of the soviet union.

that being said, I find the whole thing disgusting and encourage the father to contact a conservative legal defense fund which will gladly help him argue his case.

I find it ironic that liberal parents who don't want their precious children spanked can demand that the schools not touch their children for fear of a law suit (and get their way), but conservative parents who don't want their kindergartners exposed to the sexual perversions of mentally ill people get arrested for asserting their parental rights.

Didn't Anita Bryant get herself blacklisted with her warning to America on the gay agenda? Wasn't her quote, "Those who can't procreate must indoctrinate."?

I believe she also said somethin, paraphrasing, where "if homosexual marriage is allowed, we might as well be allowed to marry St. Bernards." She said this way back in 1977.

I mixed up my info about who the Superintendant was. I don't know why they have that picture of that guy up there. Joanne Benton was the superintendent and apparently she has resigned, here's the link http://lps.lexingtonma.org/index.html. And here is the email exchange with the principal.

just another reason not to send your kids to public school....

What makes you think it doesn't happen in private school? Greenhill School of Dallas promotes homosexuality. They are considering a Gay, Lesbian, Transgender Club and the Asst Head of School has had numerous pro-gay newspapers on his bulletin board for weeks. Kevin Jennings spoke there and suggested that they hire more gay teachers so the 2-3 kids who are gay would feel more comfortable.

FYI: Hurley is the interim superintendent. Paul B. Ash will become superintendent on July 1 (at a salary of $175,000). So I don't think Hurley's gonna care much at this point.

"Lexington’s Public Schools enroll over 6100 students and employ over a thousand professional and nonprofessional employees. Its budget for FY 2005 is $66,357,468."

Per pupil spending = $10,878

From ABC a family alphabet book:

Book Description It's family fun from A to Z in this alphabet book that shows kids and their parents laughing, playing and enjoying family life. All of the brilliant watercolors depict families headed by gays and lesbians. "C is for cookies. Both of my dads know how to make great chocolate chip cookies." "L is for lunch. We always pack a picnic lunch when my moms take me to the beach."

From the Publisher Two Lives specializes in publishing quality books for children in families headed by gays and lesbians. The number of children being raised in alternative families is increasing daily, and we believe that these kids deserve to see their lives reflected in the books they are reading.

Wow.

Why are they teaching kids this stuff in school? Makes it easier to hit on them later.

If he had a scheduled meeting how could he be trespassing? They didn't like what they were hearing and used that as the excuse.

Of course it can happen in private schools...but if you are going to spend your money on a private school, I would assume you would decide on a school that fit your viewpoint on these things.

I worked in college level education for about 10 years. Anybody who doesn't think schools are a mess is just wearing blinders. One needs to choose carefully what one exposes one's children to. And don't think that because they have teaching certificates they know a lot or are any smarter than you are.

This whole story makes me nuts.

As for this subject being in the Kindergarten....

We had a few threads here where freeper posted the curriculums that were coming with the homo agenda in it.

I, for the life of me, can't remember the freepers that had the pdfs posted.

____________________________

That day the Don is told about
the Parker arrest and why.

Later that evening the Principal, city’s Director of Education and the Superintendent of Schools were picked up to have dinner at a local restaurant with some of the Don's closest friends to discuss new school policies.

Their heads were almost stuck into the scorching pizza ovens until they changed their communist minds about teaching homosexuality to KINTERGARTEN KIDS.

Those last paragraphs were a fictional scene I heard about and were cutout of the 1st Godfather movie because homosexuality wasn't forced into their 4 to 5 year old KINTERGARTEN KIDS heads in those days.

Home Land Security please save the 5 year old KINTERGARTEN KIDS from these Public School terroist.
