Who used either of those words? Some people thought a couple of her jokes were in low taste - which they were. I haven't seen anybody call her those words.
You haven't been on the threads that called her that and worse.
Then you haven't been looking; such a surprise.
Look, I have lurked long enough to know that you are not a supporter of many of the president's policies. Ok, most of them. I wholeheartedly support your right to voice opposition. Generally speaking, I disagree with much of what you post. But this one thing is true: the President does not walk on water. On that we can agree.
The thing that got my knickers in a wad about this episode (and got me to delurk) is that those who are upset play so incredibly smoothly into the hands of those who will use it against me and my beliefs. It becomes an excuse not to listen to our ideas. I think many of us feel an obligation to point out that most of us are not irrational, judgmental, dour, excitable prudes.
People who disagreed with the comments probably aren't either...but they sure are starting to sound that way. I want liberals to understand that we know what is going on in the world, but choose differently for ourselves.
There are principles and there is politics. One is a goal, the other is a game. Play the game well...and you will reach the goal. This, in my opinion is about the politics part.
On a personal note, it's nice to talk to you. Like I said, I have read your posts for a long time. Perhaps someday we will get to debate a principle, instead of the politics.
