I recently saw the original SW on Laser-disk (remember that format?) and remembered just how great a movie that was (before George Lucas "fixed it"). I now have it on DVD in its original condition even though Lucas doesn't want it out that way.

The original Star Wars is the ONLY truly great movie of the six. Every subsequent movie suffers from its blatantly trying to copy the greatness of the first one.

Oh yeah, Star Wars was great, truly historic. I was three when it Star Wars came out and my whole childhood centered around it. It's like imprinted on my deep psyche. But as much as I like the Star Wars, I think Empire Strikes Back is my favorite. The snow planet sequence at the beginning (I can't remember the name of the planet) with the snow walkers (or whatever they were called) is just amazing. Sky City was fun to look at, too. It was just a really nice looking movie. Plus there was lots of pre-CGI Yoda, which was cool.
