Right after seeing the HHGG film, I rushed out and bought the TV version on dvd to refresh myself with the "real thing" again. The movie and the TV version both have good and bad parts. In the film, Stephen Fry did well as the Book, and John Malkovich's character was soooooo creepy. Slartibartfast's tour of the "factory floor" was beautiful.

I agree. Though I was somewhat disappointed in this new movie version. It seemed to take a 90 degree turn to parts unknown as soon as Zaphod pulled that cube out of his pocket.

I loved the old TV version and the only flaw I can name is the low production values. In fact, if it weren't for such high production values and great CGI, I would be totally disappointed in the movie.
