I agree. "Knights of the Old Republic" was a terrific story, complete with shocking plot twists. I've just started "Knights of the Old Republic II" and it's already shaping up to be pretty dang good.

(The plan was simple, like my brother-in-law Phil. But unlike Phil, this plan just might work.)

I can understand Spielberg crying. Its taken what... 30 years to complete the six movies. Add to the fact that Spielberg consulted and directed a couple of scenes in this one. And that Spielberg consulted to I and II.

I project twice that worldwide if not more.

Considering that he's the main character, the fact that he's still there, not acting, is most disturbing. Who the hell was the casting genius who hired that lightweight?
As for the movie, I heard that Ian McDiarmid is deliciously good as Palpatine so it's probably still worth seeing.

I doubt that... I had to correct you on 2-3 points about the saga background on another thread.

I have to admit that I came close to choking up watching the last Lord of the Ring movie but never actually cried.
After Lord of the Ring, these Star Wars movies just don't seem as important as they used to.

I agree totally about the kids who played Mannikin.
THe little boy is dull and expressionless and looks NOTHING like Hadyn Christiansen, who would have been better as one of those live store window exhibits at Bloomingdale's. In fact, none of the three actors look remotely like each other!
I saw the screen test of the three boys that Lucas had to pick from and there was a much blonder boy who I thought could have done a better job, and was cuter besides.
As for Christiansen, all I can say is
WHHHHHYYYYYYYYY????????

PJ had some well written books to go by... GL created an entire universe. GL deserves more credit.

Methinks you're thinking of someone else. I haven't said word one about the saga background.

" ... if it was made in California, I don't even consider it."
Then you're safe seeing ROTS because it was made in Australia.
Firstly, this is one point. Secondly, this is a point about the movie's production, not the saga background. I reiterate: I haven't said word one about the saga background. As a rule I don't let myself get drawn into arguments about fictional sagas (model name of this Star Destroyer/when introduced/history of a certain character/etc.)

"I heard that Ian McDiarmid is deliciously good as Palpatine so it's probably still worth seeing."He plays villain roles really well. He was great in the "Masonic Mysteries" episode of "Inspector Morse", and also in the original British version of "Touching Evil."
