I cried because the last couple movies sucked so bad. I remember reading about the prequels in Starlog magazine when I was in a kid and I spent years looking forward to them--only to get ripped off by the crap that was the Phantom Menace and Clone Wars. Lucas should have let Spielberg direct and hired decent actors instead of that awful kid and pathetic Haiden Christianson. It's enough to make anyone weep.
Clone Wars was a little better but still not great. Maybe rate it a 6.
I took my son to the first three; and we both really enjoyed them. I saw the first prequel with my son when he was home on leave, and it was sooooo bad and disappointing, I didn't even bother to see the next one.
What Lucas should have hired were great screen writers & directors rather than trying to write & direct himself. He admits he hates writing, directing, etc. and it shows. You could not pay me to watch the previous two again
they just have no repeat value for me at all.
Now the orignals I can watch over and over again, better actors and writers.
Lucas could and should have done better knowning his own weaknesses as well as he does.
Not as pathetic as your spelling. Seriously...Hayden is a fine actor...see "Shattered Glass" for an example. What is pathetic is George Lucas' ham-fisted dialogue. Not his actors' fault. Ian McGregor is SO clearly bored in the first 2 films by the insipid dialogue. WHY oh WHY didn't Lucas hire Empire/Jedi writer Lawrence Kasdan???
95% of the time this PR B.S. doesn't even come from the person being written about. It's made up fluff by PR publicist (hacks). That's why they get paid so much, ahem...the PR hacks. PR hacks are like sucker fish that ride big whales.
