CNN's Kelly Arena reports that one man is being held by Maryland State Police at an airport in Frederick, MD. The police are waiting for federal authorities to arrive on the scene.
The man is said to be the pilot of the small aircraft that triggered an evacuation of government buildings in downtown Washington when he reportedly violated restricted airspace.
Frederick, MD. is located about an hour northwest of Washington, D.C. along the I-270 corridor.
In which case he goes to Gitmo for a little while, in Laz's Perfect World.
LOL! But couldn't they load it with something deadly? Or have I been watching too much 24?
And if this were 24, this all would have been a distraction while something more sinister was occurring.

If it was carrying those things, I doubt it would have flown back to the airport; probably would have flown low to the ground so that when shot down it would distribute its contents over a wide area. Any pilot really bent on crashing into the White House would plan on possibly being shot down before reaching the target, IMO.
Glad this appears to be over. I was standing outside when the F-16's went over (I work 3 blocks from the White House). Knew somthing was up, leave it to Free Republic to have the most up-to-date info!

After being looked over, the plane is being towed down the runway. Then they stopped towing it.
