Are C-17's comfy? Do they have a VIP version of it or does Condi just have to shout for anyone to hear?

I don't think a visit by anybody other than President Bush was ever on the "breaking news" sidebar. They were just posted on the main forum.

Such a cool pic. Didn't she visit earlier? I love it when our top dogs go visiting the new outposts of democracy.

OK, Would you like me to apologize for suggesting this should be in Breaking News?

Maybe I should be banned?

Front lines for sure. Suicide bomber had killed over 150 just over a week ago. Ceremonial condolence gesture on behalf of the US, maybe?

Did C. Powell ever visit during or after Iraq's liberation?

Of course not... I just don't agree with the suggestion, that's all.

My bad. 150 people were injured in the attack in Erbil and killed 60 others.

He did back in September '03. It's easy to forget though (which is my point). No one forgets when President Bush visited the troops on Thanksgiving.

Rice in Iraq for Kurdish meeting

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/05/15/iraq.main/

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in the Kurdish region of northern Iraq Sunday for a meeting with Kurdistan Democratic Party leader Masoud Barzani.

Rice landed at the airport in Erbil at 10:45 a.m. (2:45 a.m. EDT) where she was greeted by Barzani who escorted her to his home for their meeting.

The trip is Rice's first visit to Iraq.

A State Department official traveling with Secretary Rice said she was engaged in talks with Iraqi political leaders to deliver a strong message that the United States wants the timeline for drafting an Iraqi constitution to be met.

Rice would also stress the importance of the new Iraqi government making every effort to be inclusive of all segments of the population, the official said.

Looks like the MODS thought this was worthy of being posted as Breaking News. I hope Colin Powell doesn't feel dissed

We are serious and these people see this and are inspired. No missles fired into tents this time around you got the real deal in the Oval Office.

Yep... It's not that big of a deal though. Powell not only went in September '03, but also in March '04. Nobody was going ga-ga over that either.

Who is going "ga-ga" over this?

Does placing something in breaking news mean we are going "ga-ga"?

Just for the record, I thought it was very cool of Colin Powell to visit our Troops in Iraq, both times he did so.
