Iran is chock full of US equipment since the Shah's Iran was a client state. Their roads are US built and their road signs are US pattern. Their trucks are all US built. The whole place looks like the US with Tehran looking like one giant Islamic L.A.
That was the biggest laugh about the revolution. They had to use American gear every while spouting lots of anti-US agitprop.

Now that is too funny.
You think everyone here didn't notice the ridiculously smarmy tone of your post #4? That wasn't a personal attack?
There are plenty of Iranians who did not support Komeni and are still suffering under the regime. They are slowly building support for a free society over there and are reaching out to us over here.
I remember the 444 days; yes, I remember them still. But there are people in Iran who have been force to endure 25 years of oppression. Mighty big of you to rub it in their faces with your condescending post.

We hated Khomeini but no body listened to us.
Carter didn't back the Shah and facilitate the return of the Mullah Khomeini to power.

Your "little Iranian Friend" has been here long enough to earn his or her bonafides. Your question was probably not appreciated by him:
Either - LOL

a 68 SS 396 on the road here yesterday. The plate read "68 454" which would make it not stock and lessen its value///"Not to worry, most of them over here are running huge-mongus crate motors and can barely be street driven, your 454 would be kitty food.

My first car was a 53 Pontiac straight eight, two-door hardtop, everything inside was chrome...
I wish I still had every car I've ever owned even though I thought they were junk at the time I got rid of them....If I only knew then what I know now.

"
Khayam was banned in Iran, unfortunately!"mine is a 1947 Random House, boxed & with wonderful illustrations.
Took me months going through my parents' effects to find it again and now holding pride of place on my desk.
Of course, I have Disney's original mouse cartoons next to it, tastes may wander...
