I having a class at ERAU with Iranians. One day they were there and pfffftt the next day GONE. That was during the trouble in (I think) 81.

Saw a 68 SS 396 on the road here yesterday. The plate read "68 454" which would make it not stock and lessen its value. It was in nice shape.

The problem with those cars in Cuba is that they are held together by bubblegum and bailing wire, though they are 45 plus years old and still running!
I recently sold my old car... damn I miss that hunk of steel!

Thanks! Nice post! Also I LOVE your background page. I was in Iran briefly many years ago and bought a beautiful copy of Omar Khayyam's poetry. It is a beautiful country with a glorious and honorable history. It's ironic that Carter facilitated the coming to power of Ayatollah Khomeini, who was not even Iranian.

Hey, great cars. Like the dodge there and I think I see a 1951 or 52 chevy in the back ground behind the Dodge. Don't worry about the negative remarks by some of these guys. They can't help being stupid, they were born that way.

Saw a car today that identified itself as a Chevelle, but it didn't look like a chevelle.
It was a two door, and the window shape was like a more recent oldsmobile/plymouth.
Truly weird.

That Trans-Am made me think of Burt Reynolds, which made me think of
Cannonball Run, which made me think of...
No racial stereotyping intended, I just loved the sound of that souped-up Rolls. :-)

You are always welcome to Iran.
Khayam was banned in Iran, unfortunately!

No Worries!
My image of the US is not based on people like those you mentioned.
I know the USA by heart, although I am far away from it.

Dammit, man! You sold the Chieftain?
You were supposed to keep it until I got my '65 GTO down here so we could cruise Sattiday Nights! [And, get your doors blown off by a Real Pontiac!]
You replaced it with a Real Pontiac, didn't you?
PS Glad I got to cruise that time with you though. Your Chieftain was a nice one, even if it did have a SBC under the hood!

This gearhead thanks you for your post. Encourage your buddies to keep on taking good care of their neat old wheels.
Which one is yours?
This gearhead also hopes and prays that Iran will soon become a FRee country again!
Your government is playing a game they cannot, and will not win.
