Interesting! But . . . of course, Revelations 11:19 sorta pinpoints where the Ark of the Covenant really is.
In other words, they won't find it. ;-)

I agreed to help him write the movie, Jones said, as long as number one he wouldnt set it here (in Israel). Some people believe the ark is in Ethiopia or Egypt, some believe its in Constantinople or Rome. I just didnt want it to be portrayed as being here. The second thing was, 'Dont use my name.' So he didnt. My name is Vendyl V-E-N-D-Y-L. So he just dropped the first and last letters and it ended up Endy Jones. And all along I thought he was named after the dog ...

"Why don't they just convert to Judaism?"
Why? As far as Jewish law is concerned a non-Jew only has to follow 7 basic rules to be on good terms with God. A Jew on the other hand has to follow probably a couple hundred. Personally, I don't see the upside to conversion.

If you read the FAQ on Vendyl Jones' website he states that as a myth.

I still think it's in Ethiopia as referenced in 2 Chronicles 35, and Isaiah 18. It's at "Lake Tana". There's some dudes there that claim to have it, and guard it.
Nevertheless, this is interesting and I wish the guy luck. HE'D BETTER NOT TOUCH IT!

Hmmm, a very long tunnel out into the desert ~ sounds like an irrigation tunnel very similar to those found throughout the Andes, Afghanistan, Persia, various places in Central Asia, and so on.
The idea with these tunnels is to reduce evaporation of the water.
The discovery of such a tunnel leading from Jerusalem, a source of water, to the Judean desert, really wouldn't be a surprise.

The discovery of such a tunnel leading from Jerusalem, a source of water, to the Judean desert, really wouldn't be a surprise. Except there NEVER was an abundance of water in Jerusalem. Its ALWAYS been a problem.
And that region has been picked over, and fought over for thousands of years and SOMEBODY would have found something that big by now.
Its also been radar mapped by the Space Shuttle. Nope!. No tunnel.

"The Talmud says the Ark is hidden in a secret passage under the Temple Mount."
The Ark may have been there once, but is not there now.
Its in Axum in Ethiopia. It was spirited out of Israel by the Levites during the reign of King Manasseh who polluted the Holy of Hollies with pagan idols. It then went on a remarkable exodus down the Nile to its present location.
Read "The Sign and the Seal".

Other theories I have heard:
[1] Buried in a sacred vault under the Temple in Salt Lake City.
[2] Purchased by the Rockefellers in the fourties for over $100M and now located in Jackson Hole, Wy.
[3] Just as the movie indicated, the OSS got their hands on it just before WWII and it has been sitting in a nameless packing box in a government warehouse between DC and Baltimore long forgotten ever since.
