1 Timothy 5:18
For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain." And, "The laborer is worthy of his wages." WEB

Luke 10:7
Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. WEB

And many others.

Do you really need a scriptural admonition to do what is decent and worthy of one blessed with responsibility of being an employer?

With God's grace, you'll outgrow this nonsense.

I wish you all success young man.

I worked just as hard as you did, and I never earned close to what you earned. But if it makes you feel better, pat yourself on the head on the way to the bank.

You forked over child support, score 1 for you if you are telling the truth, but you didn't have to find babysitters, cook, clean, stay home from work when your kids were sick, you had a definite advantage in the labor market.

I don't look down my nose at you, but I resented people like you for years. I had to pay your kind $20 an hour to fix my car so I could get to work and earn my $8+ per hour.

I'm not impressed with your accomplishments. You didn't have one hand tied behind your back and probably didn't have to take anti-depressant/anti-anxiety medication to keep going so you wouldn't lose your kids.

Everyone is worthy of his wages. That goes without saying.

The Bible doesn't say what everyone should be paid.

What happens to wages if the cost of living goes up? The price of gas has doubled. Are the working poor getting commensurate wages to pay for it? Most are not.

Maybe if you weren't acting like such a snot, I might tackle your question. I don't want to talk to you any more.

So you don't think he was worth the $20 an hour? Why not?

Why do you insult me? I didn't insult you.

Wages are tied to the cost of living.

When wages goes up, everthing goes up. Don't you understand?

I was explaining that I am not the least bit disadvantaged and I have always had a roommate.

I agree. For single people, a roommate is not a sign of poverty but of common sense money management.

Those who feel deprived can move to an area where a roomie is not necessary to afford a reasonably nice place to live.

A higher percentage of people their own homes in the U.S. than any other time in the our history.

The increased housing prices are a reflection of demand. The cheaper places are not available due to floods of immigration, which have forced each level of apartment renters and home buyers into a level higher than they ordinarily would have paid if the pressure from below was not present.

This is not Wal-Mart's fault. It is a reflection of lack of national political will and consensus about controling immigration (legal and illegal).

Abraham Lincoln suffered about five failures. He was a man. He had a definite advantage in his time.

Is that for real? Cordon Blue certificates? Sounds like a culinary code blue. I buy frozen chicken cordon bleu for $.99 at Aldi's.

And just what happens to your job when people don't have money to eat out at all those fancy restaurants any more?

Good luck anyway. It's honest work. It doesn't sound like your employees are going to like or respect you since you are going to pay them s*** wages. It will be really stressful when they don't show up for work, as they often don't. Why should they?

And prepare yourself for some difficult personality types you will be forced to hire or be slapped with a discrimination suit. Lawyers take their cases pro bono.

I'd tell you to get back to me in 15 or 20 years but I probably won't be around.

I don't want to talk to you any more either.

The Bible doesn't say what everyone should be paid.

The Bible is not a "cook book".

But why the glib non-reply rather than an answer to my question?

So you don't think he was worth the $20 an hour?

Apparently she does, since she paid it. Frankly I think she should have paid more. Surely his humanity was worth closer to $25/hour, by my arbitrary standard anyway. With her as his employer, I certainly think she could have done better, especially since she didn't supply him with paid vacation, health insurance, holidays, paid breaks, disability insurance, etc.

Because you didn't answer my question.

I asked where in the Bible was mentioned a "living wage."

You didn't answer, but I'm guessing from this "cookbook" reply, the answer is "nowhere."

So it's not in the Bible. That's all I wanted to know.

If you, and other socialists like you, are successful in getting minimum wages increased, you will at the same time increase the cost of manufacturing almost everything.

Well, prepare yourself for a fight. I don't give a rat's ass about minimum wages. I want our Barbie Doll jobs back. They would have paid slightly more than what the minimum wage is now. But no, they all went to China so little girls could have a whole roomful of cheap Barbie dolls.

I'm going to see what I can do to help out those people on the website that is the topic of this post. But first I intend to do some more research on how Wal Mart has treated their employees around the country. They don't sound like they are much into compensation for people injured on the job.

They don't sound like socialists over there to me, but they do sound like Democrats. They care about America and American jobs. My first question will be if there are any Republicans or independents working with them.

I think Wal Mart is starting to run a little scared. They have been getting some bad pr.

Now I don't wish to talk to you any more either.

Just out of curiosity, what "trash" do you believe Rush Limbaugh is putting in people's brains?

"Over there" is a Union group.

This whole thread should be zotted for being sourced from there.

Accept the fact that you are not a conservative, no matter what you think about gay marriage and jihadists.

Friends, you keep arguing with a fool long enough and people stop noticing the difference.

Just take comfort it will never better itself as it lives a long full life of misery created by it's own jealous envy.
