Google likes to put up nice little drawings on just about every holiday possible (always using their name "Google" as the centerpiece). Today --Memorial Day--- nothing...
Very rude and a spit in the face of our soldiers IMHO...
I believe they did the same thing last year.
They're libs, those who died for their freedom means nothing to them.
Maybe they don't see Memorial Day as a celebration but as a day to honor those that have fallen with respect and thanks instead of cartoony characters. I don't BBQ, party or celebrate, but do put flowers on the graves of our fallen from all wars and say a prayer for all soldiers, alive and dead. Today is a day of mourning for some of us, as it should be.
Those Google people stepped in crap, made billions, and now are spoiled little snots.
Had they been born ten years later or earlier, they'd be mere mortals like the rest of us.
But now they are so spoiled by success, they think they know how to save the world.

I think we go through this every time there is a holiday.
There is no note of Memorial Day on the FR main page either.
Folks are just looking for a reason to dislike Google.
Google probably considers itself as citizen of the world and if they do they should have all holidays in the world, which would be something for their webmaster to do every day.
For a short time this morning it changed to some thing about feeding animals. I refreshed it a couple times and it kept coming back. A min later it went back to that graphic.
Of course, not even a poppy from Google.
Google doesn’t recognize most of the traditional American holidays, especially if they are religious, but they do recognize almost every other person or event. I really wouldn’t have a problem if they didn’t put anything on their homepage about holidays or people but they purposely avoid traditional American holidays. I sure some responder will have some lofty, higly educated, idealogic nonsense reasoning for it but not recognizing Memorial Day was the last straw for me. My search engine is now AltaVista. Believe me, it’s just as good.
Cheers.
