Ford Motor Co. Supports the Homosexual Marriage Movement
AFA News ^

Posted on 05/30/2005 9:06:28 PM PDT by Cedar

If one looks for the company which has done the most to affirm and promote the homosexual lifestyle, he would be hard-pressed to find a company which has done more than Ford Motor Company. While this is hardly known to the general population, it is well known by numerous homosexual organizations. In fact, the Human Rights Campaign (a national homosexual organization whose goal is homosexual marriage) gave Ford a 100% corporate rating. Ford makes not only Ford, but also Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, and Land Rover.

From redefining family to include homosexual marriage, to giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to support homosexual groups and their agenda, to forcing managers to attend diversity training on how to promote the acceptance of homosexuality, to sponsoring a “commitment (marriage) ceremony”, to sponsoring Gay Pride Parades, Ford leads the way.

The goal of every homosexual organization supported by Ford is to get homosexual marriage legalized. The information below provides just a glimpse of how broad Ford’s support for the homosexual movement is.

Ford believes the effort to legalize homosexual marriage by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is so important that the company is giving GLAAD up to $1,000 for every Jaguar or Land Rover (both Ford products) purchased this year. Click on the link and go to the bottom of the ad and you can read about Ford's support for GLAAD. GLAAD is one of the nation's largest homosexual groups promoting homosexual marriage. Ford's donations will help GLAAD in their efforts. (Go to the link posted with this thread--"AFA News".)

Ford's donations are not confined only to GLAAD. For years, Volvo has donated $500 to the Human Rights Campaign when a vehicle is purchased or leased. The fine copy at the bottom of the ad tells the reader about Volvo's donations to the Human Rights Campaign. Read More.... (at link posted with thread)

Ford defines "family" to include homosexual and lesbian couples. In the 2005 Gay Pride Day in Ferndale, Michigan, Ford sponsored the "family area". On the website, the heading reads "The Family Area is Generously Sponsored by Ford." The Ford logo and name are included on the page. The Ford Motor Company Fund is funded by Ford Motor Company. Read More (at link posted with thread)

Ford is promoting a new definition of family as being "people with modern values." Thomas Anderson, executive vice-president of Volvo Cars North America (a division of Ford Motor Company), said of their effort to target homosexuals and lesbians: "For us, it was very natural to address gay families. We're targeting people with modern day values. It's a value set and the Volvo-minded consumer is very diverse. 'Family' is much more than the traditional family." Ford gave more than $5000 to help sponsor the 2004 Motor City Pride Weekend. They will again help sponsor the event. This year it will include—among other things—a homosexual “commitment (marriage) ceremony”. When you click on this link, you can then click on “Commitment Ceremony” on the green bar to see the planned “homosexual Marriage”. Read More (at link posted with thread)

Ford supports homosexual publications with ads, including sexually oriented ads. (go to link posted with thread)

Ford's support for the homosexual movement isn't limited to the U.S., but is international. Click Here to see scenes from the 2004 London Pride Parade sponsored by Ford. Click Here to see that Ford will be a sponsor for the 2005 London Pride Parade. Click here to see ads that ran in German newspapers and magazines. More Here (at link posted with thread)

Ford was the main sponsor of the London Mardi Gras event. Follow the link below to see some of the activity which Ford helped sponsor. Warning: Many will find these photos offensive. We include them only to show the type of activity Ford feels deserves their official sponsorship. Read More (at posted link)

Ford Motor executive praises the company’s support for the homosexual community. Ian McAllister, CBE, chairman and managing director, Ford Motor Company Limited, had this to say about Ford’s support for the homosexual community. “Ford has been supporting gay, lesbian and transgender events and charities for many years, and this year, Ford will be a main sponsor of the London Mardi Gras. We believe at Ford in helping a global society that is more open and tolerant, and one that values diversity. Our presence at the Mardi Gras underlines that philosophy.” Read More (at posted link)

Ford donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to homosexual groups to push the homosexual agenda. While it is nearly impossible to find the most recent gifts to homosexual groups, Corporate Patterns reports that at least since 1999 the company has been donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to homosexual groups. In 1999, Ford gave $200,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and $100,000 to the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Campaign.

Ford refused to give information on how much money they have given to homosexual groups in the past two years.

Unlike many corporations which give most of their donations to local groups to support projects in their local communities, Ford gives an inordinate amount to national liberal social causes. Read More (at posted link)

FORD needs to spend more time thinking about cars.

Why doesn't FORD put out some copies of the greatest cars ever made? Is there a boomer who could pass up a '63 Mustang?

How many more of these deviant organizations does Ford fund through the Ford Foundation? Several years ago there was a boycott of Ford by farmers, and ranchers, The Ford Foundation was heavily funding Envioro-Wacko groups, the boycott got their attention, Bill Ford Jr. came out with some silly statement, that it wasn't the fault of the Ford Motor Company. They gave money to the Ford Foundation, and they distributed it as they saw fit.

It seems that Ford finds ways to fund anything that will lead to the destruction of this country.

The Ford Foundation owns a large block of FoMoCo stock. FoMoCo HAS to pay Ford Foundation a lot of money every year.

Of course they do. They are trying to promote the idea of a two-car family.

As lilylangree posted, FORD'S bonds are now junk status.

No wonder the company's going down....maybe investors don't like FORD'S "distributions."

If I hadn't already decided to boycott Ford because of its crappy products, this policy might push me over the edge. I guess they need all the sales they can get. I truly hope this company goes broke. It deserves to give way to capitalism's "creative destruction."

I like Fords a lot, I'd do almost anything for a 1965 Ford Galaxie or a 1965 Mercury Park Lane with Breezaway style roof. Well, since they were practically made in the stone age, in less "enlightened times" they would still be on my list. If I ever got into the financial position to buy a new car, I would have considered the new Mustang, but now Ford has done gone and blown it. Henry Ford would be rolling in his grave. All I can say to Ford is "quite giving into the PC crowd and just make the dang cars and trucks! That's what you are supposed to do!" Well, if I ever get into a position to buy a new car, Hyundai here I come.

Sandra Ulsh, President of Ford Motor Company Fund

Ford Motor Company Fund has three key giving priorities: education, community development, and environment. In 2001, Ford Fund grants totaled more than $112.6 million to non-profit organizations working within these areas.

******

FERNDALE, Mich., Feb. 1 - Ford Motor Company Fund today pledged $250,000 to the Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center. The campaign will finance a new community center in downtown Ferndale, Mich.

Ford's grant is among the largest donations ever made from a Fortune 500 company to a gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) organization. This donation represents another part of Ford Fund's tireless commitment to support organizations that improve opportunities for those who live in the communities where Ford Motor Company does business. The gift, along with similar contributions from other automotive manufacturers, will bolster Affirmations' efforts to raise $5.3 million to complete the facility.

"Ford is proud to support Affirmations and its partners," said Ford Motor Company Fund President Sandra Ulsh. "The new center will serve as a cornerstone for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community in the state of Michigan. It will be a place to build and nurture a more inclusive and respectful society." The campaign's top gift of $500,000 came from Allan Gilmour, former vice chairman of Ford Motor Company, and Eric Jirgens head of Eric Charles Designs, of Birmingham, Michigan. As top donors they will also serve as co-chairs for the campaign.

Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center, based in the Detroit suburb of Ferndale, has been in operation since 1989 and provides a variety of programs, services and social opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals residing in Southeastern Michigan. Affirmations' mission is to provide a welcoming place to every day people where they can have fun, learn, socialize, grow, be supported and find acceptance.

Ford Motor Company's 2004 GLBT Awards and Community Activities

* Mar. 27 - Ford Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Employees (GLOBE) co-founder Alice McKeage received the Affirmations GLBT Community Center Jan Stevenson Award for her contributions to the center and to the GLBT community.
* Apr. 23 - Members of Ford GLOBE host a Build-A-Bear event and donate teddy bears to Detroit Hispanic Development Corp to distribute to children who have been displaced or are in need of childhood development.
* Apr. 27 - Volvo Cars of North America, LLC received the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) David Ogilvy Award for its campaign targeting GLBT consumers.
* May 28 - GLOBE Chair, Suzanne Wait was named Volunteer of the Year by the 2004 GLBT Pride Banquet Nominating Committee.
* June 7 - Diversity Inc. announced that Ford Motor Company placed among the "Top 10 Companies for GLBT Employees".
* July 1 - Ford Motor Company added "Gender Identity" as a category that is protected against discrimination, to Corporate Policy Letters 2 and 6. Ford is the first of the Big-3 automotive companies to take this step.
* Sept. 14 - Ford GLOBE hosted a reception celebrating the 10th Anniversary of its formal recognition as a Ford Motor Company Employee Resource Group.
* Sept. 28 - Ford obtained a 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index. Ford is the only automaker and the largest corporation to get this score. The Corporate Equality Index is a systematic review of how America's largest companies treat their lesbian gay, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and investors.
* Oct. 2 - Ford GLOBE Hourly Outreach Liaison, Bob Burrell was awarded the 2004 Out & Equal Trailblazer Award.

Ford Motor Company, a global automotive industry leader based in Dearborn, Michigan, manufactures and distributes automobiles in 200 markets across six continents. Gay center billed as Midwest's largest

February 3, 2005

snip

Affirmations announced it will break ground this spring on an "environmentally friendly" community center that will feature a rooftop garden, meeting rooms, library, media center, cyber cafe, art gallery, and two-story gym. It will take about a year to complete, officials said.

"This is just the real pinnacle," said Noel Baril, who works at DaimlerChrysler and serves on the Affirmations board of directors. "For me personally, as an employee, it's really validating."

snip

Ferndale City Manager Tom Barwin said the city fought to keep the community center that now occupies a rambling former storefront on Nine Mile at Planavon.

"It would've been a terrible loss (if it moved out of town)," Barwin said. "This really indicates that our region is working very hard to embrace diversity."

Diversity was the theme of Big Three representatives who handed oversized checks to Affirmations staffers at an Assaggi Restaurant ceremony.

"We learned a long time ago that the more inclusive we are as a company, the better we are as a company," said Rod Gillum, General Motors vice president of corporate responsibility.

Sandra Ulsh, president of Ford Motor Co. Fund, said the automaker strives for diversity and inclusion and made a big contribution because it values the work done at Affirmations.

Brian Glowiak, vice president and secretary of the DaimlerChrysler Corp. Fund said:

"It's the new home, and new heart, of this community,"

snip

The new community center will fit in perfectly with the governor's "cool cities" initiative to attract young professionals to Michigan, said James Stokes, who attended Tuesday's presentation on behalf of Gov. Jennifer Granholm.

"It will truly diversify the downtown area even further," Stokes said, adding that the only larger gay community center is in California.

Ford Motor Company donates $5 million to eco-group,
much to chagrin of truck drivers

May 23, 2001 - FOX NEWS - by Jonathan Serrie

from http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,25508,00.html

SEATTLE — For decades, Ford trucks have been carrying the load in rural America. But now the automaker's recent commitment to "Earth-friendly" organizations is planting some seeds of discontent.

The once-thriving logging communities of Western Montana's Flathead Valley are struggling to survive, largely because of stringent environmental regulations enacted during the Clinton years.

That's why the Ford drivers in the valley are upset over the company's $5 million grant in February to the National Audubon Society.

"I do not understand why Ford has decided to give money to groups that attack their customer base," says Bruce Vincent, a fourth-generation logger in the Flathead Valley. "We're the folks who buy a lot of their pickups."

snip

"If you really want a Ford, buy a used one," urges John Stokes, owner of KGEZ-AM in Kalispell, Mont. "That way, no money goes to Dearborn, Michigan."

Stokes said his radio station has received calls and e-mails from hundreds of listeners upset over Ford's environmental contributions.

snip

Some environmentalists call this "corporate blacklist" unfair, but Stokes says turnabout is fair play; he argues that environmental groups have used the same tactics for years.

For now, calls for actual boycotts are limited and loosely organized. But if this grassroots backlash gains momentum, more companies may find it's not easy being green.

Web-posted Feb 2, 2005

By CHRISTY STRAWSER
Special to The Daily Oakland Press

An ambitious timeline and powerful financial backers were announced Tuesday for a unique downtown Ferndale project - the largest gay community center in the Midwest.

Leaders of Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center received three separate $250,000 checks Tuesday from Big Three automakers to help pay for a sharply modern, four-story facility on Nine Mile Road.

The gifts were each the largest in history from a Fortune 500 company to a gay organization and total $750,000.
