Just for clarification....I'm in Alaska, and wasn't at the Air Show and Memorial Day Parade in Columbia, Missouri, but posted this for a friend whose computer is not behaving very well. But I must say Operation Simply Shread was certainly a great idea. My hat's off to the Columbia FReepers.

Thanks, Kathy, for posting this.

It was so much fun! It really was a great lesson in "freedom of speech" for everyone. The peaceniks had the freedom of speech to distribute their literature, and the recipients had the freedom of speech to do with it as they chose. Many walked by the peaceniks and refused their literature. A few took it and kept it. Most who took the literature gave it to us to shred, as the peaceniks looked on in horror and disbelief. It was great. :)

Thanks to all the FReepers who helped make this happen. If necessary, perhaps it should be an annual event.
