George Bush, the president's father, would like to see another Bush in the White House someday, saying on Tuesday that he would want his son Jeb to run for president when the timing is right.
Florida Governor Jeb Bush has repeatedly said he does not plan to run for president in 2008, trying to dampen speculation that another Bush could be on the next Republican ticket for the White House.
In an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live," former President Bush said he would want Jeb to run for president "someday," but now was not the time.
"The timing's wrong. The main thing is, he doesn't want to do it. Nobody believes that," Bush said.
But he and wife Barbara both said they believed Jeb, 52, did not want to run in the next presidential race.
Bush said he did not have a favorite candidate for the Republican nomination to succeed his son, President Bush.
Barbara Bush said she believed Senator and former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton would be the Democratic nominee in the 2008 presidential race. "I'm not going to vote for her, but I'm betting on her," she said.

As states continue to claw their way out of the worst state budget hole in years, this report presents the findings of the Cato Institute's seventh biennial fiscal policy report card on the nation's governors. The report card's grading is based on 15 objective measures of fiscal performance. Governors who have cut taxes and spending the most receive the highest grades. Those who have increased spending and taxes the most receive the lowest grades. Our analysis shows that states that keep tax rates low and restrain spending growth have the best economic performance and thus the best longterm fiscal health.
This year, four governors receive the grade of A: Arnold Schwarzenegger of California, Craig Benson of New Hampshire, Bill Owens of Colorado, and Judy Martz of Montana. Four governors receive Fs for their poor performance in dealing with the state fiscal crisis: Bob Holden of Missouri, Bob Taft of Ohio, Edward Rendell of Pennsylvania, and James McGreevey of New Jersey.

Again, nothing but absurd rhetoric and NO facts . . . Do the research, then get back to me with concrete data to disprove my assertion that President Bush is just as conservative as President Reagan (if not more so).
BTW: When you use the word 'rape', are you refering to immigration (Reagan is the one who signed an amnesty bill, NOT Bush); are you referring to tax increases (Reagan is the one who increased taxes, including the mega-tax increase associated with his uber social security bill, NOT Bush); are you referring to our War on Terror, to include Iraq (Reagan is the one who emboldened terrorists, by withdrawing from Lebanon, NOT Bush). I could go on but it's late and I've got real work to do.
If the Conner/Kyl immigration plan makes it thru, there will never be another unseating of a sitting Democrat.

Actually, if one is to go through that immediate family, his mother might be better. By all accounts she is extremely sharp and does not suffer idiots lightly.
Also consider the congress Reagan had to work with vs the one Bush works with now.

I think the dynasty angle is probably enough to keep him from running any time soon. But comments like this make me wanna see Jeb run just to watch the heads explode over here.
I know this is hard for you to believe, but there are people *even* in the Republican party for whom the sun does not rise and set on the Shiavo case.
Get rid of everyone in DC. Don't let them run again.

In 2001, the President inherited a recessionary economy, and an imploding Stock Market. Soon thereafter, he had to cope with an attack on our own soil and the resulting 'hot' vs 'cold' war . . . Bottomline: The President did what he had to do to keep our country safe and our economy secure.
[Relative to the latter, our economy has recovered beautifully, particularly when compared to comparable countries around the world . . . Why the complaints?!]
Had JFK lived to serve out his full term (or two,) I don't think you would have seen RFK running. Anyway,royal families are not what this country is about, be their last names Kennedy or Bush. Jeb might be a great guy, but IMO his family has already had its shot, at least for a generation or two.
