My God, they get younger and younger.
Most have od'ed on "self esteem" along with NO DISCIPLINE.
Jealousy is a human reaction but without proper guidance this is the worst case example of what can happen.

Some of us on FR have been talking about the fact that recently we seem to be getting more and more child abuse/death stories. We can't figure out why that is.
Since you posted this one, I wanted to ask your motivation. Why post this story? What do you believe it achieves?
Thanks for your response.

He's 7 years old. Do you believe he has the mental capacity to understand what he did? Just asking.

Punch, hit and smash in order to get the baby to STOP crying? B.S. A 7yrs old is plenty old enough to know that.
Parents probably went next door to drink, or smoke it up, should've never been out of ear shot.
You don't trust ANYONE with, or near, a newborn - cat, dog, kids, friends, etc. unless you are standing right there. They are just too damn fragile to risk or assume anything.
Bottom line - they screwed up raising their 7yr old and that chicken came home to roost.
Open your wallet, we're all going to be paying for this 7 yr old kid the rest of his life - jail, institutions, welfare, etc. The parents little "gift" to the rest of us.

Note the article said "while the child was visiting his father" and "the father's girlfriend". I read that to assume that (a) the boy didn't live with his father and (b) the baby probably was a half-sister, born of a relationship the father had with his "girlfriend". From those two observations, I would make a good guess that the child did not have much of a home life and that at least one of his parents was leading a tawdry life of his own, and (c) There was a lack of loving nurturing in the kid's own home, i.e. he's witnessed other beatings.
All that said, this is a dreadful act; but the kid is probably not altogether totally to blame.

You got that right....that is all one really needs to know. Typical loser parents more concerned with their lust lives than anything. If these children had a loving, stable, two-parent (original parents) home, this would not have happened.

I think the unstable lives many children lead is a contributing element to their acting violently and irrationally.

You want to execute a 7 year old!?!? The boy is 7, not 17!
To: Fury
The latest on this story yesterday, relatives and neighbors said the child was very cunning and sweet as long as things would go her way. The moment they did not a fury would rise and she would spit at others, scream and pick up large objects and hit other children. She apparently was jealous of the attention the baby was receiving. What kind monsters are being raised?
