My bad. I was thinking of Insulza / OAS. But the hard left is deeply entenched in the governemnt in Santiago. It's far from the free market paradise we want to think it is.

Lagos was at least part of Allende's team years ago, you see he was picked to be the ambassador to Moscow by him (though he never reach Moscow according to him) which does show a certain amount of trust by Allende. He never liked Pinochet. Now Pinochet is being hounded by the state after saving it and after Lagos won office. Sorry there is just to much of a coincidence for me. He may not be a full blown communist to be fair but he is left enough that he could undermine what remains of our position in South America and throw it into the hands of the Chinese given how hard they are working to improve ties with Chile. The entire situation stinks.
