PETAH TIKVA - Two children were rushed to Schneider Hospital Tuesday following complications from their brit milah (circumcision) ceremonies.
The first case took place Tuesday, when a mohel (ritual circumciser) apparently cut the child’s penis too deeply, causing blood to gush out. The mohel then tried for half an hour to stop the bleeding, without success. Finally, an ambulance was called.

But men are not really mutilated (defined as maimed beyond repair) and still function normally in all respects (sexual, urological) after circumcision. That is not the case for females, who truly are mutilated and maimed.
The woman is still functional after her clitoris and clitoral hood are removed. She simply receives less stimulation from the penetration. Same with men.
I heard of a mohel who used pinking shears. He said it kept the finished product from unraveling...

I should have mentioned that the removal of the labia and labia majoris also don't effect the woman's ability to conceive, nor does the whole package removal interrupt the urinary function. Serves the same function as circumcision, removing (some of) the joy from sex. Friggin' pre-historical sick bastards.

Then how come the USA with the largest circ'd population is pretty much the sole consumer of erectile dysfucntion drugs like Viagra?
I recall when Viagra had its spectacular release in the US, the company planned for the global roll-out based on the US response.
When it floundered the British press illuminated the uncut populations had less problems getting aroused - This news was never published in the US - Too many questions would arise and possibly undermine the american popular misconceptions about circumcision.
With that in mind, the Viagra gang jumped on board in pushing a pro-circ agenda along with the existing profiteers - the companies that make the cirucmcision tools and equipment, the doctor who makes money from performing the circ and from selling the skin to the companies that grow skin grafts from harvested foreskins, who in turn make money selling the skin graft material....
Circ will be around in the US for a long time to come.
Now don't get all mad at me, I'm cut and favor cutting all males at birth - though I know I feel this way based on my own penis and my american cultural bias. I won't bother rationalizing or engaging anyone on circ's merits or detriments. Too emotional for most.
As a Christian I have always wondered if Paul had it wrong when he pushed for not cutting initiates to early Christianity. On one level it may explain America's fantastic world wide success over the rest of the world in the last 50 years (Strong Christian culture and majority cut in US since the 40's)
