What does that mean, she gave him one to protect himself in case the dog broke through? she barred the door with it in vain attempt to keep her son out of the house, knowing he'd do a "typical Nicky" kind of thing?

If your only taking on Media hysteria, I take back back any misguided insinuations. Have a relative who has a pit bull, that has already bit a stranger once. Appears to be a nice dog, but wouldn't trust it as far as I can throw it. Would hate to see him pay with house, and property...

And if your dogs, whatever breed they were, included a female in heat and a possesive male, you would have been a fool to do so.

I have owned 11 dogs....
I meant, across my lifetime.
I meant, any ONE of them could have been locked into the basement with my kid.
I didn't mean...all eleven of them at once.
But I'll take your scenario of any breed versus any two pit bulls. (BTW: wouldn't a female in heat and male have enough to occoupy them?)
