this is not the first time this has happened.
There have been other cases where a braindead woman has been kept alive to preserve the life of the baby.

My best friend went through this last fall.
Unfortunately, both the mother and baby died.
Having gone through that as a friend, I can say it is impossible to understand how hard this is on the families. It is so much worse than I imagined, and I wasn't even family.
