I have said from the start of this, that the only way you defeat your enemy is to remove his will to fight. This is what occurred after WWII, the Germans and Japanese were so damn tired of the hardships imposed on them via the destruction of cities and the related infrastructure they were "pacified" This crap about not being at war with the civilian population is BS. The only thing these animals respect is shear power...why do you think they never ventured to overthrow Saddam?

Managing an empire is hard work. The Romans can teach us a lot about how to do it, if that's what we've decided to do as our foreign policy.
