KLEIN'S "TRUTH" IS SIMPLY SORDID (LATimes writer urges black-out on 'Truth about Hillary' book)
LATimes ^ | June 27 05 | Tim Rutten

Every once in a while, something hits your desk and makes you wonder whether there really isn't an argument to be made for book burning.

Edward Klein's "The Truth About Hillary" — ... Prurient in its focus, shameless in its methodology and vile in execution, this volume is a near-perfect example of what has come to be called "bio-porn," a particularly noxious subgenre of the polemic literature that nowadays infests our bestseller lists.LP>[snip]... The way to handle "The Truth About Hillary" responsibly is to give it no further notice, no wider discussion.

Silence.

If the serious media can't draw the line on this one, then there no longer are any lines to draw.

The way to handle "The Truth About Hillary" responsibly is to give it no further notice, no wider discussion.

Then why are you writing about it, dolt?

If the serious media can't draw the line on this one, then there no longer are any lines to draw.

BWAHAHAHA! Serious media? The same folks who brought us Rathergate? The same LA Times who claimed the Swift Boat Vets were a bunch of liars without bothering to document those lies?

I'll tell you EXACTLY what is going on here. Hillary does best when she can spin herself as a victim. This book is a piece of junk that creates a few salacious claims without delving into the details of her abuses of power. And then pinheads like this one can cry for Evita, er, I mean Hillary, and she can get her victim sweater out of the cedar chest.

Prurient in its focus, shameless in its methodology and vile in execution

Sounds like this book accurately describes it's target subject.

Any book "review" without examples is worthless. I didn't see any examples in here.

If it was smear book called the " The Truth about George Bush" they'd love it.

HYPOCRITES!

Imagine how embarressing it would be for this koolaide guzzler to pick an example of Hitlery's sociopathic habits, and then have it independently proven? It's safer to condemn it without reading it.

no further notice, no wider discussion. Silence.

Isn't that what the liberals define as "censorship?"

Exactly. This is a pro-Hillary book probably commissioned by her as step 1 in the next campaign. Make some silly accusations to increase her victim status, and then hope that some right-wingers will revel in the dirt and attract MSM attention. Then all future attempts to bring up the Clintons' past record will be met with "we've already dealt with that trash when we disposed of the Klein novel."

Remember when the TODAY show ran with three days on the Kitty Kelly book slamming Bush 1 month before the election? Where was the LA TIMES? They still haven't investigated the Swift Boat claims against their boy JFK II. In short, if the LA TIMES hates this book it's probably worth reading.

Good question; one I'd like to put to the author of this piece, but the LA Times makes it virtually impossible (from what I can see) to send a quick note responding to the authors of their columns.

What ever happened to just reporting the facts. Can we even consider The LA Times, etc. news outlets anymore? or are they really partisan political newsletters?

Bio-porn?

I wonder if this a-hole felt the same way about Kitty Kelly's books?

Sorry, but there are a lot of serious players on the right who think Klein's book is unsupportable.

Why not a good old fashioned book burning? The liberals no longer make a pretense about free speech or prior restaint when it comes to silencing their critics. Why do they pretend they're willing to allow any form of comment that doesn't conform to their agenda? A book burning, a short trial and exile Klein off to the Gulag: that's what they truly prefer.
