I just wish they'd FIND the poor girl! I don't need to know every detail, rehashed 100 times. It does get boring and disheartening.
I, like so many others, can't help but wonder why the focus is on one girl when there are so many other missing girls out there who don't get any air time. Do you have to be cute, young and blonde to be worthy? Looking back at all the "missing girl" stories I've seen, It seems that way!
BTW, here on Freep, the Natalee thread III is now over 4,000 messages. When the third thread is halfway to 5 figures, well......
With the Jackson fiasco in the can, the "media" needed something new to talk about. You can only gloat so much over the number of American soldiers and Marines killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They need a filler story to take up the other half of the hour.
When the third thread is halfway to 5 figures, well......

Halfway to 5 figures is 2 1/2, eh? Figures !!! ;-))
In answer to your question, as far as I'm concerned, it IS just you. Just because you're cynical about the programming on FOX news, not to mention the MSM, doesn't in any way detract from the human interest of this story.
There is a real human being that is missing, and probably dead, and for any that have followed this story, especially in the past week, when the parents have been there beating their heads against the wall of a foreign country and its judicial system, we have all come to feel some small part of
their pain and their sense of monumental frustration at having to deal with this situation. I think the case WILL be resolved within a week, and I think the elder VDS should be contemplating another line of work, as his career will be totally ruined if it can be proven that he is complicit in a cover-up. He MORE THAN ANYBODY has more to lose if proven culpable in anything, and more to gain by stonewalling, lying, or otherwise burying whatever truth he knows. So, once again, we have more to learn by paying attention, yes, even paying attention to the crass coverage we can expect from ANY media outlet, than adopting an "attitude" towards the story because it is somehow "insignificant" compared to the WOT, or whatever else. I for one have learned a lot about a great many things, especially Aruba and its unusual judicial system,
to ever be able to write this story off.
I refuse to watch cable news most of the time -- my own mini boycott for this crap they try to foster off as news. Only time I will turn them on is if something is breaking news.
The poor girl's probably fish droppings by now and her body will likely never be found. End of story.
The whole Aruba thing was worth it just to see Alan Colmes's miserable excuse for a head of hair practically blown away by the Caribbean breeze. He must have to comb his back hair a long way up to get that effect.
That's the best laugh I've had in a week! Thanks! :-)
It isn't just you. I get sick and tired of reading real news on the bottom of the screen while they drone on and on about tabloid subjects.
Oh, but he's becoming very close to each grieving family member! He can relate to their anguish somehow. Lol!
