Hey! Lighten up on the poor guy, he just woke up. Also he did hit one of the perps and sent him to the hospital. I have a shotgun near my bed loaded with 8-shot (for 4-legged varmints, not 2-legged) and unless someone was at short range I really doubt it would be fatal.

Make your first shell a 00 buck( at least #4's), and the second a #8. That way, if it's a varmit, just jack it once and your ready. If it's a 2 legged varmit, just use the 1st shell without making a sound.
