With and without the umbrella on Tuesday at Pope Air Force Base in North Carolina this was because he had given it to James Stitt who wasn't prepared for the rain and instead got wet himself. Once again GWB shows he is a good kind and wonderful human being.

STITT GETS VOLUNTEER AWARD, UMBRELLA FROM PRESIDENTesident

James Stitt wasn't prepared for the rain Tuesday as he stood on the tarmac at Pope Air Force Base waiting for Air Force One.
Stitt was told last week that he would meet President Bush when he arrived at Fort Bragg to give a speech about the war in Iraq. On Tuesday, Bush presented Stitt with the President's Volunteer Service Award - but not before giving Stitt an umbrella.
Bush arrived at 3:15 p.m., holding a dark green umbrella against the steady rain.
He thanked Stitt for his service and congratulated him on the award.
"He had to walk in the rain to his car after he gave it to me. It was really nice of him," Stitt said. "It is just like another award."

Liz Cheney (#17)...she's a great person, isn't she? I really like what she says every time she's on TV.
I thought she used her husband's name (Perry), not her maiden name.
