Vic Eliason presents two audio cuts. One features Robert Schuller being interviewed by Dr. David DiCanio after giving a keynote address at the 2004 National Association of Evangelicals meeting. The other cut features Robert Schuller interviewing Billy Graham. The two discuss their views concerning how people are saved.

Dr. DiCanio interacts with callers to discuss the opinions expressed by Schuller and Graham and the current move of some leaders in Christianity to preach a gospel that teaches salvation apart from a conscious, biblical awareness of Christ as the only way to God.

Thank you. This is an interesting thread, even though I think its title is a lie.

How would explain what Jesus said in the gospel of John chapter 14 verse 6?

touchy , feely , it might make us feel bad to think someone would spend eternity in hell.

God did his part ...
then he said .. go ye into all the world , preach and teach ...
if someone goes to hell because they never heard the word , who's fault is that ? Gods ... I don't think so.

And thinking that somehow all the aborted babies go to heaven is just a way to sooth our conscience so we don't have to take a stand against it.

God made rules to the game , and even he will play by them .
No exceptions.

That reminds me of another blasphemous quote:
"I bring you a New Covenant"
I got a whiff of sulfur when I heard that one.

It is not a question of knowing about the idea of a christ, but of salvation and its origin. Act 4:12
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

I think Billy is on a lot of medication and I have noticed that even great people of God can start doubting as they grow older. I don't know why that happens but it does.

I did listen and Billy Graham did NOT deny that Christ was the only way to salvation.

Thanks for making that point. This thread should be pulled.

Full of crap or not,
there was no transcript available for the radio talk show. Perhaps you should listen for yourself. There have been excerpts post earlier in this post.

I transcribed the audio. Here it is in its entirety.

An interview with Billy Graham by Robert Schuller at the Crystal Cathedral.

At about 9:30 into the audio file

Robert Schuller: Tell me, what do you think is the future of Christianity?

Billy Graham: Well, Christianity and being a true believer...you know, I think there's the Body of Christ which comes from all the Christian groups around the world, or outside the Christian groups. I think everybody that loves Christ or knows Christ whether they're conscious of it or not, they're members of the Body of Christ. And I don't think that we're going to see a great sweeping revival that will turn the whole world to Christ at any time. I think James answered that, the Apostle James, in the first Council in Jerusalem when he said that God's purpose for this age is to call out a people for his name and that's what God is doing today. He's calling people out of the world for his name, whether they come from the Muslim world or the Buddhist world or the Christian world or the non-believing world. They are members of the Body of Christ because they've been called by God. They may not even know the name of Jesus but they know in their heart that they need something that they don't have and they turn to the only light that they have and I think that they are saved and that they're going to be with us in heaven.

Robert Schuller: What I hear you saying then, it's possible for Jesus Christ to come into a human heart and soul and life and even if they've been born in darkness and have never had an exposure to the bible. Is that a correct interpretation of what you're saying?

Billy Graham: Yes it is, because I believe that. I've met people in various parts of the world and travel situations that they had never seen a Bible or heard about a Bible or never heard of Jesus but they believe in their heart that there was a God and they tried to live a life that was quite apart from the surrounding community in which they lived.

Robert Schuller: This is fantastic, I'm so thrilled to hear you say that. There's a wideness in God's mercy.

Billy Graham: There is. There definitely is.

What's critical is that you grow to fullest stature; that you become a person who loves heartily

This is impossible unless Christ resides in a person's heart.

Just a question. How was Moses saved since Jesus came after him?

I heard Billy Graham say something on Larry King last week that really disturbed me. He said, God loves the Muslims. At that point I turned the TV off. I was stunned.

We have all been saved the same way Abraham, Elijah, and even Rahab were saved. We were reconciled to God, by God, because He found us righteous.

Graham also reportedly knows what the meaning of "is" is.

That's right. The good he did all those years counts for something. God is proud of him. We need to have mercy on him for what's going on in his mind and body right now.

May I answer this?
Paul in Romans chapter 1 to 3 suggests that each person is confronted with the concept of God. They will then be judged by their own conscience did they live up to thier own standard. Jesus will be that judge. He will judge perfectly.

Well, I know that Jesus can appear to people who don't know him in a dream, a vision, even in a coma. So in that sense, perhaps he's not wrong entirely. It's hard to know what he really means without reading the rest of the context.
