I drive a stock D-Max and there isn't a toyota that can take me. That's with only using 15 lbs. of boost. When I pass them, they see what little power their truck has.

You mean you drive an Isuzu with a GM body, right?

Too bad Ford and Dodge diesels are faster and more powerful out of the box. Also too bad that Nissan's coming out with a 600lb-ft diesel for their Titan 2500 next year.

Say, how's your headgasket holding up? Taken your truck in for the latest round of Duramax recalls?

By the way, you might want to look at the 05 Tundra specs for 0-60 and then look at the ones for the 05 DMax....

A couple of points:

The headline/story is in no way misleading. It is a simple declarative statement: GM June sales in 2005 are 41% higher than in 2004. Period.

The dealers aren't getting shafted. They still have the right to sell any car for whatever they think they can get. IMO, they should be grateful for the increased traffic due to this campaign.

out of the box, my duramax has never lost to a ford powerstroke or dodge. Should it happen, I won't mind because it's an american vehicle that got me. My other vehicle happens to be a ford car.
a buddy of mine bought a small trailer and the rear end went out on his tundra trying to tow it. I can haul a 26' trailor filled with water, 2 quads & a fishing boat and drive up a hill at 75mph.
when it comes down to it, the duramax may have an isuzu motor in it but, 90 percent of the truck is american made and that's what I will live & die by. All the foreign vehicles use one method: R&D (rip off and duplicate) american vehicles. I prefer to put my hard earned cash back into the american economy. So, you can have your toyota, I'll stick with my american made products that i love not hate. gotta go fly my flag now.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that I own a Toyota. I don't. I own a Jeep and a Jaguar (among other things).

You might want to look really, really hard at your content label. Your transmission was assembled in the US of Chinese and other Asian parts with some slight US content. Your engine was made in Japan. Your truck was probably made in Canada or Mexico.

Tundras are made in the USA - Alabama, IIRC. They're going to make them in San Antonio in a few years.

What was that about "American made" again?

People start buying vehicles with a better reliability record again.

These new "prices" either stick for the 2006 model year, or sales WILL be down 59% versus this quarter.

Sure would hate to be a GM stockholder right now. Wonder how much the UAW pension plan has invested in GM stock? Can you say "double-whammy"?
