No kidding.
I find myself embarassing people into taking their hats off during the National Anthem at ball games and other events. It makes me CRAZY when they just talk above it and ignore it.
I usually sing it also - really loud - can't talk above that!

It's a new day but not a good one in my opinion. Our younger generations don't have a clue because their parents aren't teaching them, IMHO. They certainly don't learn it in school any longer. I worry about what will happen when our generation is no more. I hope some of our young folks will pick up the baton.
