My stance on this was that if, as we've been hearing, this was designed to coincide with the G8 summit, why didn't they bomb in Scotland instead of London? Someone on here said that London had a larger population and therefore would produce more casualties. Perhaps that is so, but it still doesn't make sense to me.

OTOH, if they just want to scare the British, as you say, bombing London makes sense.

They attacked London BECAUSE: 30% of the METROPOLITAN POLICE (trained to confront terrorist attacks since the IRA bombings) was transfered to Scotland to protect the G8. Hence London was left with LESS security.
